OK...here's the question
Aug 10, 2013, 5:31 PM
|
|
I know some are going to say...get off the board....you again....Notre Dame sucks....Rudy sucks....coot...and a host of other things. This question is for the thinkers on Tnet and the rest of you can just put up your usual rubbish. I asked this question on a few boards I visit about their games and got some good honest answers. It's a time passer.
The season starts in a few weeks, so if your opener against Georgia was held on a neutral site....say Atlanta...what are your chances vs playing at home ? Try to be honest about it.

I thought you would hold out for longer than this
But seriously.....Obviously we wouldn't have a big of an advantage as playing at home, but I think we would still have an edge. We showed last season we can open against a solid team in the dome with AU, and UGA proved the exact opposite against Boise a couple years back

We a huge fan base in Atlanta.
Plus, it's about the same distance from Athens to Atlanta as Clemson to Atlanta....maybe 30 min farther to CU

I guess it wouldn't be....but it is suppose to be. Georgia probably has many more fans in Atlanta than Georgia Tech....good point.

I'll bite . . .

since we are playing at home, this is this is a hypothetical question. Therefore my hypothetical answer is that a neutral field would not affect the outcome; however, if we were to play at UGA then they would have home-field advantage.
Since we are playing with hypothetical questions, answer me, if ND didn't get a media bias would they be relevant?

If you had to use our record since 1990, you would be hard pressed to find anyone outside of South Bend that thought we were relevant. We are living on the past without a doubt. I do know that....as do most Notre Dame people.

please don't come on this board and condescend people by asking for responses by "thinkers." Things without your presence are much better than the converse.
In answer to your question...see our first and last games of 2012...the defense rests.

Our chances would be about as good as they were against LSU in the Chick Fil A Bowl.
Now here's a question for you - if Notre Dame played Alabama 100 times, would they be able to beat them once? Based on what I saw last year, I'd guess not.

We are not playing in Atlanta, and we are playing in Clemson. Your question is absolutely MOOT, it has no merit here on this board. So just take it back to the what IF boards where people want to play the what if game with you. Bye bye!!!

The crowd would be more even for sure. With Morris having this speedy offense fine tuned by game time, a good defense may slow them a bit, but not stop them. They went at the pace of a 100 plays in scrimmage today.

Other boards don't put up with his BS like the T-net Mods do here. When other board kick his butt off, it isn't for a week or 10 days.

Pretty good, Georgia is a good team but the Tigers are just better. This is my honest opinion, not just a fans perspective.

At Clemson the home field advantage is worth 10 percentage points, 60/40.
