If you have Ship & Mafah both available?
Would you take them THIS year or NEXT?

I don't think either are NFL caliber running backs. They had average stats for an average team. Our draft picks play defense.

Agree. Etienne is successful because he has jets.

Honestly probably neither because the NFL is based on speed. Mahfa can get tough yards, Ship is versatile and they might both make a roster, but the NFL drafts home run hitters.

You are the dumbest person on this board. He's entirely right. If the NFL wants a premier back, they almost always go for someone with top-end speed. That's because running the ball has greatly decreased in importance and they want a back with some receiving ability. They might bring in a 3rd down back who's big and strong. Shipley's not particularly big or strong.

Leveon Bell, Zach Moss, James Cook, Josh Jacob's, none of them are exactly burners.
It all depends on scheme and how you use your rbs.

if I need a big bag to get yardage, I go mafia… If I want someone a little bit more multifaceted, I get Shipley

I would take Mafah as like a third-down back for short yardage situations. However, I would take him very late (like 6th round). If he came back as a premier back, he could move up in my estimation. I would not take Shipley. He's not fast enough, agile enough, or strong enough for the NFL, and I really question his vision as a ball carrier given his inability to adapt when his hole doesn't open enough. He's a decent athlete, and a jack of all trades. But the NFL requires players who are elite in something.

I’d invite both to camp and let them decide Thunderdome style who gets a contract.
But if I had to use one of my precious picks, I’d go Phil.

Shipley is a great athlete, but I would have concerns about his size, durability, and attitude.
