If you think Dabo is the problem

Explain what you would want to happen next?
There’s a lot of groaning and complaining, but I don’t see anybody giving a solution.
You can’t just give a bunch of “facts” and call that a solution
Give me a fix to the problem

Dabo is only the problem in so much that the buck stops with him. The biggest problem, IMO, the defense is not what we are used to having here at Clemson. Is it talent? Is it coaching? Is it a combination of the two?

The most glaring obstacle is the lack of tackling and desire to step Up and make the play.

Defense was suspect I agree but the offense failed to get the dang ball in the endzone on too many occassions.
The special teams unit was the worst aprt of the night.

The offense is going to struggle from time to time. It was reminiscent of the Tajh years where we were winning 45-37 type games, but if the offense was a little off, we would lose 45-14. Simply because the defense couldn't make the big plays.

So let’s speak in facts instead of ideas or beliefs.
Fact: Dabo admitted in the presser that he owns two important stats. Clemson has had only two 200 passing and 200 rushing yard losses in ONE HUNDRED YEARS and they both came under his leadership. Recently. Last year and last night.
Fact: Clemson has had only 21 seasons with multiple blocked punts/kicks in the same game. 7 of those games are under Dabo’s leadership.
Fact: Our Clemson Tigers have more former players in paid assistant or coordinator positions than any other Power 4 team.
Fact: we are one of four FBS teams w/o a starter from the portal.
Fact: Dabo’s winning percentage is declining.
Fact: Dabo declared to the world, when hiring Riley, that Garrett was coming in to run Clemson’s offense.
Fact: GR is definitely not running the offensive schemes he ran at TCU.
Fact: Dabo hired an unproven DC, a running backs coach, and an unproven WR coach, and other first time position staffers.
Fact: Clemson deserves better hiring decisions than that.
Fact: Even if we win out, win the ACCCG and win the Natty this year, these facts remain.
Do with them what you will…..

GR is running Dabos Clemson offense. He has Dabos plays and calls them. In the first half of the NC STATE. Game we saw a little different play calling. It vanished in the second half and hasn’t been seen since then.

Folks should quit saying we are one of 4 teams without portal players
We are the ONLY team without portal players
Military schools can’t partake in the portal.
However I don’t think portal produces continuity See FSU last year to this. Produces mercenaries who may play at 3 or more schools during their career. I think Dabo is trying to protect his culture which is one of best in CFB. I could see DS retiring before he jumps both feet into the portal

They just embarrassed us at home.
Colorado has huge numbers, and they have the same 6-2 record that we do with far less NIL money.
That FSU Appeal to Outliers doesn't make sense. They are one of 130 FBS nin military teams that use the portal.
Clemson is the only one that doesn't.
How many Top 10 teams use the portal? All of them. How many are ranked higher than us? All if them

Post like these entirely missed a point… We went from being one of the four best programs in college football for six years to Dabe sticking his fingers in his nose, refusing the used tools that all the other programs are using, and replacing his top coordinators with the friends and family plan… He built our program into a powerhouse, and he’s also the one who has let it slide back into being viewed as a fraud… Don’t be surprised if ########## comes back soon too

I have solutions that Dabo will not consider
- Do a better job recruiting the state - Use the portal SOME you don't have to be FSU but you can add to a weakness - Hire Coaches with Experience .....Wes Goodwin should be at Anderson right now not Clemson - Get more aggressive on the recruiting trail

I think Goodwin should stay on the staff.
It’s hard to replace Venables after the standard he set
And though we haven’t been near as good, Wes has hung in there.
He’s a decent coach. Just needs to learn how to keep his players disciplined. Which isn’t easy.

He’s clinging to his firmly held beliefs as to how things should be done, despite the fact that those beliefs run counter to what college football is about now.
If Dabo isn’t on board with the transfer portal and NIL, and isn’t willing to utilize them to the fullest, he shouldn’t be coaching.
It would be like a coach a couple of decades ago refusing to utilize all of the possible on campus recruiting weekends, or refusing to pass more than run. While he might have been averse to those changes to the game, his opinion really doesn’t matter when the game evolves and others start capitalizing on them.
Dabo can say he really loves and cares about Clemson all he wants, but until he shows that he is truly willing to go “all in” on this new era of college football, he just seems full of it.

so he's going to rightly be called out when they lose games they should win.
It's the right of the fans to p*ss and wail at the head coach. And it's the right of the head coach (and players, and other coaches and staff, and recruits, and the list goes on) to dismiss as irrelevant the p*ssing and wailing of those same fans.
And it will never be in Coach Swinney's best interest to panic every time the pitchfork-and-torch crowd shows up demanding his team (and entire program, for that matter) stop being who and what they are, and start being something else.

IMO, you are seeing the effects of years of roster mismanagement. We have good players at spots, but not enough talented depth.
IF......you aren't going to take ANY from the portal despite all your peers doing so (uga, Bama, OSU, ORE, etc) b/c holes are now UNAVOIDABLE in todays world.....you BETTER be ELITE at HS recruiting. We are not. We are refusing to play the game, as is legally allowed now, on both ends. Not b/c we can't, but b/c we choose not to. Pate presented it perfectly in his video. Y'all realize NO ONE/NO OTHER PROGRAM is doing this to us. Totally self-inflicted.
Look, few like the way this has evolved, but no need in crying over the past like some do. What good is that going to do???? Its not going back to where it was. Better pick your legal poison and work to be elite in the new world. Our ole friend Willy Wonka said it best: "Oh you can't get out backwards, you have to go forwards to go back."

We have to win every level of competition. We are not competitive in every possible area afforded to us because Dabo Swinney has made a choice not to be. Teams all over America are competing in the NIL and Portal arenas and we are not. Some teams are getting it right and some are getting it wrong, but every team but US has chosen to compete, again Dabo Swinney has made a choice to NOT COMPETE in the NIL and PORTAL competition afforded every team by the NCAA. If there us a competition to be won, we must compete. We competed in the hustle and work hard in the High School competion. We competed in the recruit high school players in other geographical areas competition. We competed in the have the best facilities and latest technology competition. There is an opportunity to win before us and we have chosen not to compete, it is that simple. Coach Dabo Swinney should make an effort to show the NCAA how NIL and PORTAL use can be done correctly.

Fire Riley, Goodwin, and Grisham. Hire Jeff Scott as the WR coach and make him recruiting coordinator. Hire a proven OC and DC like he did for the OL coach. End his nepotism hiring. Start using the portal. Seems obvious.

Dabo either adapts and fervently uses the transfer portal and embraces NIL for transfer players (though he still needs to get the right mix of talent and team cohesiveness — which can be hard i.e. FSU) or he needs to leave Clemson so we can hire a coach who embraces the reality of the modern game and transfer portal.
Clemson will not get back to the top of CFB’s mountain unless Dabo adapts or someone new comes in who has a different philosophy. It’s really that simple.

His hubris resulted in him making some horrible assistant hires. That hurt us in recruiting but even more so in player development.
We don’t develop guys like we used to, plus we don’t game plan like we used to.
In addition, we are losing guys to the portal but refusing to replace them with guys from the portal. We are always a young team now, and we also lack quality depth.
This is why you see us losing games we shouldn’t over the last few years, when we almost never did when we were elite.
If I were Dabo, I would make some significant changes to the staff. Think more guys with the experience of Matt Luke and less like CJ Spiller. I don’t care if they played at Clemson or not, just go get the best guys for the job. We have the budget to get the best. Do it.
Change the approach to the portal and NIL. Lead with NIL dollars for guys that deserve it based on their past performance. Also change the messaging around those topics.
Finally, address the marketing problem that has emerged. We used to be a fun program. Now we are the boring, stuck in the past program. That starts with Dabo. Be fun and carefree. Play a fun brand of offense and a hard hitting style of defense.
We have every reason to be an elite program, and many advantages most other programs don’t have, but it’s going to be up to Dabo to make it happen.

How about Stoudt and swinney as wide receiver coaches. That'd definitely be near the top of my list. The offense looks better in hurry up,so maybe we do might do more of that. Fixing the problem on the defensive line so teams don't run it down our throats. Throwing the ball north and south as opposed to east and west......just to name a few that I have noticed.

If an oncologist tells you you have a tumor, you don't respond with asking him what the solution will be, and then assess the diagnosis in light of whether or not you like his solution. You first address and either accept or deny the diagnosis, and then, in the event you accepted it, you then deal with assessing possible solutions.
People do a lot of talking past each other, and I think one point of frustration people often have is that their interlocutors refuse to even countenance the accuracy of criticism unless the critics also have in hand a fully developed solution. But the truth of a criticism simply does not depend on whether or not a critic has that or not. It's entirely reasonable to accept that X is wrong, without having all the answers to a solution figured out.
I'm not saying rash criticisms and rushes to cheap and poorly thought out solutions aren't a problem too. They are. But often I think people miss that step one is admitting the problem . . . and way too many people act and talk and think as if you can deny and/or minimize the problem so long as a perfect solution is not evident.

I’m sure the Chicken Littles on here would call me a pumper because I don’t want to fire the whole staff after every loss. That being said, I wish he would replace the receivers and special teams coaches.
That’s what a constructive comment looks like. Not just a bunch of vomited “facts” with no suggestions. That would involve an offering of an idea that may or may not work. And open the door for criticism. Adulting is hard for some.
