He’s already allowed one run today to score with a past ball so I wouldn’t be surprised if another one happens.

Isn’t it “passed?”

Pregame routine must not translate to the game. He lets way too many balls in the dirt get by him. He is usually good for 2 to 3 passed balls a game including letting third strikes get past him more than they should. So I am not sure what his pregame workout has to do with anything.

I’m not going to lie. He does frustrate me. I wish he was more accurate on throws to second as well.

Re: A ball in the dirt that gets away will always be a wild pitch***

A ball in the dirt isn’t always a wild pitch. Plenty of balls in the dirt are considered passed balls not wild pitches. You do understand part of a catcher’s job is to block those pitches. Now they are pitches that are so wild that no catcher can be expected to stop them, but if you reach a pitch especially if you get a glove on it & it still gets by then yes that’s a passed ball.

No, it's not. If a ball is in the dirt it's on the pitcher, not the catcher. Even if it could have been blocked by the catcher, it's a wild pitch.

He's not perfect but he's the best we have right now....hopefully Bakich is recruiting or looking in the portal for another good one. If Jarrell went down we'd really be in trouble. Gaffney needs to stay at first.
