Why does it seem the umpire is consistently slowing Ohio st down? On the play where the announcers were saying osu was wasting time the umpire was clearly holding up the snap.

They should penalize him for that.

If the offense substitutes, the D is allowed to.

Don't know if that's what happened on the plays you're talking about, but in the hurry up scheme ,if the O sends in substitutions, the umpire will give the D a chance to also.

That is what I was trying to figure out. Looked like that was the case on the earlier Fred zone plays. But on the one the announcers were saying osu was wasting time everyone was out there, it almost looked like he was looking around to make sure defense was set .
