up in burned in 1977. They had one of these wood burning fireplace inserts. They would have it nosebleed dry and hot in that room, and about 50 everywhere else in the house in the winter.

My uncle in Low Rice, SC had a wood burning fireplace.

One Christmas at their house it was actually cold. Like 20 degrees. He had a wood burning fireplace with a blower. He cut that blower on and I swear the whole house hit 90 degrees. We had to open windows.

My grandparents kept the heat at a level that I’m lucky not to have been a victim of spontaneous combustion and the TV was kept at a volume audible anyplace on their farm.
I would rather be a lot cold than a little hot, so I spent much of my time there outside.
