I think it probably had more to do with Ed Orgeron. Guy is supposedly and unbelievable recruiter. I wish he had stayed out on the West Coast.

We'll likely pick up the recruitment of 4/5 star Trayvon Mullen a little more now. Don't think we're completely out of the running for Saivion Smith yet, especially if LSU struggles a bit this year. Props to Orgeron, he's one hell of a recruiter and this is a loss we can live with.

He does have some teammates and some on their way to Clemson. This definitely helps. Another great defensive year and he will be watching with great thoughts.

Yeah, maybe... maybe not. A kid like this, i.e.: with the talent, the spotlight, the desire and the dream (I would say ambition, but ambition comes later, with a little maturity, a few bumps and bruises, and a reasonably clear view of the playing field), is still just a kid that wants to make everyone happy and make the right decision and doesn't even begin to understand what it's all about. External pressure and influence is nearly impossible to resist, let alone his own nascent sense of self determination. So, regarding his "commitment" to LSU (those other tigers, who apparently have a habit of stealing more than tradition from other schools), in the immortal words of another storied professional, "it ain't over 'til it's over!" I hope we still manage to land him, but I wish him all the success possible, wherever he goes, so long as it doesn't interfere with Clemson's.

Agreed, Orgeron is one of the best in the business as far as recruiting goes. But Dabo is "King of the Living Room" Just as B. Bowden used to be. We definitely still have a shot if Smith is a "Clemson Man"

I think we can still turn him.
But I understand about loving Clemson with all your heart and going elsewhere.
I bleed orange but chose to attend Wofford. Didn't love Wofford before or after. Always loved Clemson but made the decision for academic reasons to attend Wofford. And I probably wouldn't had fit in with a larger campus.

Yup, bled orange my whole life and still do today but The Citadel was the school for me and I am thankful to call it my alma mater. I love Clemson with all my heart and always will.
