Bill O''Brien

Jul 25, 2012, 10:14 AM

This guy is exactly who PSU needs right now. He sure sounds like a stand up guy. For him to come on national TV and pitch PSU the way he is would make me feel a little better about the future if I were a PSU alumn/fan.

Tommy Bowden would be a great coach for PSU. I'm not a fan of his, but he runs a squeaky clean program IMO.

That'd be a better fit for TB than PSU. He's a southern guy from a southern family. O'Brein is a northeastern guy, likewise better for PSU.

if he can circle the wagons

Jul 25, 2012, 10:24 AM

and keep those players in the fight up there he'll be Coach of the Century.....there isn't a coach in the nation who wants to be him right now. I think that if he plays his cards right he could be rebuilding a program into something those players and fans could bond with forever....the "WE ARE.....PENN STATE" chant they do up there will take on a new meaning and split eardrums apart and everyone who hung in there will be a part of the solution. I'm sure there are a lot of the 108,000 they pile in that house every saturday who are ashamed of the disaster but their love for their school could actually increase during the recovery led by O'Brien.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. They may struggle a bit for the next few years, but the alumn/fans that have the resolve to stick in there will make PSU stronger for it.

from just a football perspective

Jul 25, 2012, 10:30 AM

i'd hate to be the team who goes in there if few of the players leave this year and takes them lightly or thinks they're going to have effort/morale issues.....something tells me that O'Brien will have them playing like it's them against the world and they are going to drill some folks on sheer team unity alone.

i wish that guy and PSU nation nothing but the best

the ones involved with the scandal in any way, shape or form need to go to jail, period and the victims of the monster Sandusky i only hope can find peace in their lives somehow. The innocent people up there who love that school i hope can move past this mess. I'd follow this type of guy anywhere:
