Because they are part of the family. I want to see them succeed. I also know they are equipped for life after football. Shipley & others May shock me and bounce around the nfl a few years like Gallman.

OK, well I hate to think about Shipley not getting drafted at all, but he may get a chance to sign as a free agent. It has been my opinion that he should have stayed for his senior year, but there are those that believe they are good enough to play in the NFL right now and there is no way they can be told otherwise!!!

These young men have bright futures and opportunities to make rosters and practice squads.

The selection of 6 QB's in first 12 picks and lots of WRs in first two rounds skewed the draft. As one example, NCSU's LB Payton Wilson won the Bednarik as the nation's best defensive player and went #98. Wilson will start soon for the Steelers.

Tyler Davis and Jeremiah Trotter will get drafted today, outperform their draft positions and have opportunities to start early in their careers. Likewise, Will Shipley & Xavier Thomas are alpha athletes and highly rated high school stars who will get their shots.

It will be interesting to see where these Tigers land today. Pulling for all of these Tigers for life!

Wiggins went to the best team where he could land -- Baltimore needs him as a starter and no team will groom Wiggins to be more physical and disciplined. Wiggins can be a star. Ruke is still more of an athlete than a producer. Clearly, the Falcons see Ruke as someone who can develop and start quickly.

They Will Out Perform Their Draft Position 100%.

Subject title only applies to: Trotter, Davis, Thomas!

I think Sheridan Jones, W. Shipley and J. Phillips pick up UDFA deals very quickly after the final round. Of those, I think J. Phillips has a real opportunity to stick due to his versatility.

***Note: Jonathan Brooks coming off a clean ACL tear - wasn't picked until the 2nd round and was the 1st RB selected in the draft by Carolina.

Trotter - some team out there is getting a steal in the late rounds. A pure steal. Dad's a pro and can give his son real world advice on how to deal with NFL life(if he doesn't already know from watching his dad). And, he was very productive. They say at times he struggles to get off blocks because of his size. But, seems some of the best LB to ever play were actually smaller than Trotter. Teams sometimes have "paralysis by over analysis"! And, that's what has happened to Trotter so far.

Davis is also being hurt by his lack of vertical size(height). But, teams are going to quickly find out what he can do and he will make a roster.

Some of the others will be surprises for me if they get picked up unfortunately.

Ironic: Ruke And Tyler Davis Draft spots. And A Lesson for fans

Ruke was a 3-star who had only started playing football seriously (played basketball up until his Jr. year) for a couple years. He and Reuben Ethnosa came in as project players.

Tyler Davis was much more heralded coming out of football rich Apopka, H.S. in Florida. A big time 4-star player.

My thing and I've gotten plenty of criticism for it at times by some of my fellow Tigers fans is: "stop with the whining when we sign a 3-star kid and never offered a 4 or 5-star"! Clemson will not be the only school who had far less heralded players get drafted over higher rated players.
Plus, looking at how well Clemson has done with lower ranked players should give you some type of pause before being so critical and or worried about "who we didn't sign"!
If the game was played by star rated players on the roster currently Georgia, Ohio State, Alabama would win everything. Michigans roster star player to star player was maybe closer in many years to OSU; but not on par with it. Yet, the Wolverines dominated them. So, people let that go a bit. Clemson gets it's share of 4-star and 5-star players and does a good job of mixing in 3-star players who they feel will develop into a 4-star and 5-star talent.

One of the best players on our roster and one of the best safeties in CFB and why folks were no losing their mind when Makuba left is a 3-star people grumbled about: see below.
