If Dabo retired, what coach would you want?

This isn’t a fire Dabo thread. I like Dabo. I’m grateful of his leadership and convictions. I’m also grateful that he revived Clemson football and won 2 nattys. He’s the GOAT Clemson coach. But I also think the game has moved on from student-athletes and wonder if he’s still enjoying it as much. Let’s face it, college football is a professional sport now. For the top teams it’s going to be all about the money and I just don’t know that he wants to be in that environment. He’s said as much in interviews in the past. If he retired, what coach would you like to see take the helm at Clemson?

Let’s get the whole band back together, Les Herron , Tommy west, Miles Aldridge, Wayne Bolt, Gene Chizik as a GA, and Larry Van De Haden. That was a helluva recruiting staff.

Doesn’t concern me. I would expect a head coach to be vocal about the position of the school they’re at. It’s not personal. Rumph made negative comments about Clemson too.

How about row the boat from Minnesota. Wins with little talent which it seems the direction Clemson is heading. PJ Fleck.

I have heard the Fleck is one of 3 that UNC IS INTERESTED IN. An experienced coach who has done well at a school with few resources could probably do very good at a school with many resources.

Just off the top of my head.. he'd recruit at a high level and probably do little better here than he's done at OU.
Really have no idea though, we'd land with a good one.

Lanning Lane Train GT Coach Rhett Lashlee
I think three of those (excluding Lane) personalities fit Clemson. But Lane can be likable at times.
Maybe the Bama coach when they fire him too soon. He did take the Huskies to the Natty.

Deion Sanders would be my top choice, Will Swinney second choice, Drew Swinney third, and Clay Swinney Fourth but he would have to forgo his two years of eligibility remaining as our holder unless the NCAA allows a player/coach.

I’ll probably retire with him so idc. Clemson is the only CFB I care about now. Used to watch 3-4 games a weeks and most of the bowls because I loved the sport. I don’t really care about anyone but CU now.

Dabo is not yet finished but if he did retire for some unforeseen reason, I would like to see a couple of things: 1) Name the stadium after him. 2) Hire Jamie Dimon as coach and have him bring all the Wall Street dollars into play to compete with Phil Knight. (Just kiddin) 3) Build a statue of Dabo near the stadium so the birds could lite on it and deface it 2 out of every ten years.
