I know it's tough. But, baseball will be there. I believe he'd regret it if he didn't go enjoy college. Got the rest of his life to work... And make no mistake, it's work.

baseball will not be there. stop it. He can go get his MLB money if it doesnt pan out come back to Clemson or where ever he wants to go to school. NO kid in their bright mind will give up that kind of money to come to school and sit for 2 years. He could have made that money then decide if he wants to go to college afterwards. Same thing Drew Henson did and same thing Chris Weinke did. Stop being a crazed fan.

Get paid? No guarantee he ever starts at Clemson. DJ there for at least two more years and another stud may be there before he gets a shot. I get these guys shouldn’t be afraid of competition. But . . . I’m going baseball here all day long.

He will have to grow up fast if he signs a baseball contract but how could he refuse a first round bonus? Thousands of young boys play catch in their yards and dream of being a pro baseball player and he has the chance. Good luck on a tough decision.

if you're a 1st-rounder. Why shouldn't that apply to MLB as well as the NFL?
If my options were to go in the first round of a draft to play a sport I love professionally and get a bonus worth tens of millions, or sit behind DJ for two years with no bonus.....
I'd love it if he stays, but it would be borderline foolish to do so. He's gonna be a backup for Christ's sake. He can always get his degree later if baseball doesn't work out; not like he'll be hurting for tuition money.

I sure hope he comes but unless he has a great career playing baseball at Clemson he will lose all his leverage regarding a signing bonus. MBL will pay him millions in a signing bonus based strictly on potential. As a first round draft choice he will have a straighter shot to the majors because he will be a priority in any system he is in, but there is no guarantees he will make it.
