If Brownell goes .500

Feb 8, 2022, 7:00 PM

Or worse we have to fire him right? This can’t keep going on

nope not at 500 get real. He should stay at least one more year to see how the remaining players mesh with the incoming Freshman. What will probably occur is expectation for the club like one of the last 4 teams. What will end up happening if they keep him for another season is a 4th place finish and a trip to the sweet 16!

Folks like you have been saying this for 12 years.

As we will not be making the tournament this, Brad Brownell's tenure is over.

I wish it could have been different, but no one can say say he wasn't given a chance. No more "meshing". It's over. Actually saddens me to lose a good guy like him, but there just has not been enough accomplishments.

And like I said if he hits 500 he stays and so on. Then you can keep crying the river and sit back and wish the coach with the most wins in Clemson basketball history is gone. Spare us all the tears and just keep your wishing to yourself. It amazes me how people would hate then support.

.500 against the sad level of play in the ACC this year? That’s like winning 1 or 2 games in the 80s.

Looking at the schedule. We probably will need to win the last three games of the year to stay above .500

However, I would give Brad another year. I wouldn't take the chance of PJ leaving if they brought in a new coach. PJ is setting up to be the best player we've had in a long time. He is fun to watch play and Brad should see what he can do with him his JR and Sr years. Plus, the two freshmen will probably improve a lot for next year.

Even if you lose a lot of players you can win pretty quickly in college basketball. Look at Steve Forbes at Wake Forest. He was at ETSU in the SoCon and in his just his second season with mostly players from the Transfer Portal he is winning big and headed to the NCAAT. Not excuse to keep a coach just because of the players coming back or not.
