The " can you really see it happening test"
Dec 2, 2015, 3:33 PM

My buddy and I do this test a good bit and it is right about 90 % of the time. We talk about mat hips and ask if you could really envision it happening. Do this for the game this weekend.
" can you envision UNC beating Clemson with our CFP hopes on the line, a heisman hopeful QB, all orange, media disrespect and a 65-70 % Clemson crowd"
I will say no

I spoke to a UNC big donor alum this past weekend who is a close friend. He said he would be shocked if they have 20,000 there. Nothing factual just my hunch.

Their school allotment went well before Clemson's did and they have a bigger fan base.

Then let's wait and see. I would be shocked if we don't have 2/3. We care about football. They don't

I'd call it a win if it's 50/50.

And I'm not complaining, I like rooting for a school with a small (relatively) alumni base without the national name brand. If I had to rank the most annoying fanbases it would probably be 1. Alabama (read former South Carolina fans) 2. Any Boston Sport 3. UNC

How do you figure that when ours was increased and sold out before they even received their guaranteed allotment? Tickets through ticketmaster were effectively sold out in hours after the FSU game. Do you really think that was UNC fans?

I must have missed where Clemson secured extra tickets.

Yes it'll be a lot of orange and according to an article from The Daily Tarheel, UNC players said it was " defeaning noise" when they had the ball against the Gamecocks in Charlotte earlier this year

At the very best we might have 48 per cent of the crowd. This game isn't being played in Anderson. Charlotte is a baby blue town!

Bought my tickets right after the FSU game. Kept getting knocked out of the ticketmaster site b/c so many people were on at that time. My brother waited to buy his the next day, the Sunday after the FSU game, and there were no 2 seats together available only individuals. The only tickets that were available at that point were on the secondary market, like stubhub. Unless UNC fans were buying tickets after we beat FSU, I think we'll be OK, even if it's a "Tar Heel city"

Since we knew we were in the game before UNC qualified ...

you'd have to think that Clemson fans were buying tickets for a week or two before Tar Heel fans got going.
And remember, this is still "just football" to UNC fans. It's not terribly important now that hoops season has cranked up.
Last night I was talking to a UNC fan online and he suddenly typed "GO HEELS!" in all caps.
I responded with "GO TIGERS!!" and he was sort of mystified as to why I would say that.
He was watching the UNC vs Maryland basketball game at the time.

We were buying tickets after the Miami game. And many more after FSU. Solid Orange baby.

All bowls sell to local corporations each year to support the bowl. 90% of those seats will be sissy blue
