Hypothetical

If Jack wasn't the coach at Clemson (whether he got fired, retired, or left for another job, really doesn't matter), who is your short list for coaches?
First call I make is to Monte Lee at College of Charleston if I'm the AD in that situation. He's turning CofC into a powerhouse, they're probably better than we are right now.

LeCroy has done nothing to indicate he can be a head coach at this level. Hitting has been average and recruiting has not improved much either. He has no head coaching experience.

a disciple of Jack is what we need at this point assuming the job comes open.
We need a different approach

I agree with Clemfan, he is the pitching coach at San Diego State now. I also disagree I think recruiting has improved since Lecroy has been on staff.

Thought he was a great pitching coach, but his results as the skipper at Auburn were lackluster at best.

There were a lot of issues at work at Auburn. Someone mentioned C of C. They are where they are because of John. He is a Tiger through and through (alum/former player). His daughter is a student. And when we had the trio of Jack, Tim and John the success occurred due to John's calming influence over Jack and Tim, imo.

Although at this point, Corbin coming to Clemson from Vandy may be a slight step down.

Florida is going through a tough time with O'Sullivan right now. The number one recruiting class several years running and they are not even in the top 25 right now....really struggling, though the season is young.

Who

is the coach at Louisville? I'd say no on Monte Lee, too many coot ties. Pawlowski struggled as head coach now Sully is doing the same. Riginos at Winthrop may get the axe after this season, they have been very underwhelming. My staff would be Corbin HC, Pawlowski(pitchers/catchers)Russell Triplett assistant(head coach at Newberry) and Lecroy handling recruiting.

You named four. Corbin, Pawlowski, Triplett and Lecroy. Only allowed three paid coaches.

"Paid" in quotes...

Ok, so scar has Holbrook, Esposito, morales, and Buscher. One is not getting "paid" even though no living expenses and they make money off baseball camps. Not too shabby for unpaid. I think Triplett left because he wasn't getting "paid". The op said it was hypothetical.

Not Tim Corbin. If you fire Leggett for underachieving, you can't go hire an underachiever.
