The description you are getting is not really accurate. It appeared like he thought of going down - while he was in the open field - then changed his mind when he was still about 5 yards from closest defender - he kept going and ran in for a TD. It was not a fake play, simply changed his mind.

Sucks because if a defender goes to tackle him and he slides, then 15 yards. Sorry but if you wait until the last second to slide, then D should be able to knock your block off. Pickett play is the result of BS calls not allowing the D to play D.

That was a horrible fake. The defender behind him had no chance at making the tackle, while the two in front of him were still 7 or 8 yards away. They had plenty of time to adjust and still make the tackle.
