I would like to see an end to replay reviews in all sports

It has taken the flow out of every sport and most of the time the umpires/referees are correct to start with. If there is a call or two missed during a game, so be it. But get back to the players being the entertainers not the officals.

Not me. They are crucial. Just give them 69 seconds to review and call it a day. They show it to us on TV and we know within 30 seconds. These people turn it into 10 minutes

Exactly. That should take 20 seconds at most. Or maybe there is someone to call up to who answers the question fast.

The one thing that is the most important part of the game is hitting and pitching. Balls and strikes. And those are not reviewed. There's a reason for that. You can't take away the corrupt umps access to money to determine the outcome of the game.

I completely disagree. Shoot, get rid of the umpire behind home plate

That would work. Reviewing would not. It's slow enough as is.

We would have another ACC Championship if it wasnt for this

What about Targeting reviews?

If you are ejecting a player based upon the view from a particular angle that may be bad you can be affecting the game's outcome. The other side of that is I think officials may be throwing a flag and letting replay "clean it up." In football much of the time taken on a reversal is where is the correct spot for the ball and the correct time to have on the clock.

When I was umpiring softball in the service I made the right call, but because of the position of the catcher between the stands and the teams dugout it appeared to be a really bad call. The runner was sliding into home and his feet clearly went over the plate before the tag. However his feet were about 3-4 inches in the air and never touched the plate. He was tagged by the catcher as his knees were over the plate. The first part of him to touch the plate was his rear end. I've always wondered what a replay from the first base side of things would have shown, or it the plate was raised like a base, if his legs would have been low enough to have made contact.

Long way to say there are good and bad things about it.

Getting it right is more important than getting it quick.

Replay has made every sport better...except the horrible baseball umpiring.

Stop with the endless number and length of replays already...
Allow each coach have TOCs ("Time Out/Challenge").
How about in football and baskeyball,5 per half, baseball, 5 per game. No reviews initiated by the refs or umps. Overtime or extra inning games can add additional TOCs. If a coach wins the TOC review call, he keeps that TOC. This puts the onus on the Coach to earn is $$$ on how to use his TOCs...
Not a TD/yes a TD...TOC it. Touched the ball hit out/not hit out of bounds by my/other player...TOC it. Safe/out...TOC it. Limit the review, say 30-40 seconds. If not determined by then, call stands and TOC are adjusted accordingly.
Seems like everyone wants to shorten games and this should accomplish that.
Coaches can use their TOCs any time, but make sure "You have chosen wisely"...you may not have any left as you get closer to the end.

Why JK? Everyone complains about the umps and refs, long game times, number and length of reviews. Put it where it belongs...the big $$$ coaches...let them make decisions they are paid to do and maybe we can stop blaming refs when we don't like a call or lose.

I am with you JK. It a horrendous idea and completely not practical. We could go the tech route and solve the problem immediately, but men reviewing balls and strikes fter the fact would be a mess and create chaos.

I agree on the balls and strikes...that would be a nightmare. They would not be reviewable. What would be reviewable in BB are things like foul/fair, safe/out, catch/no catch, etc. And remember, coaches only have 5 TOCs(or whatever number is decided on) to use.

Replays need to be a part of the game.
The problem is how long it takes. The vast majority of the time I can rewind the play and replay it in slow motion and come up with the same result. It takes me less than 30 seconds and takes them 5 minutes. I sent them my resume but never heard back. Lol.

Amen. Coaches and players make mistakes and so do refs. If any of those three make enough mistakes, they are no longer part of the games.
