Tell The Truth...

Take a deep breath, and tell the truth.
If the Penn State scandal had happened at Clemson, what would your reaction be?

anyone that knew about it and did nothing gone. I would accept the punishment from the NCAA as deserving. But mainly, any fine, reduction of scholarships, or even death penalty for a year or two could not hurt me more than knowing that my alma mater was associated with such a disgusting matter. I'm not sure I would ever feel the same again.

As a two time alum, I compeltely agree. It would pain me to see the Clemson name associated with such things. I would acccept anything that would distance Clemson from that type of depravity and help us restore our reputation.
I suspect a lot of PSU'ers feel the same way.

I would agree on the NCAA punishment

I would find another school to root for. I know the kids has nothing to do with it that are there or were there, however, the punishment is for the insinuation for their culture.
Just imagine how many lives were destroyed by the criminal activity and the cover up. So previous football player should not be talking about how hurt they for losing all those wins and they had nothing to do with it. Tell that to the kids that their live was ruined because of PSU. Everyone one involved out to rot in hell.

About the "wins" taken away. This is just a paper thing. Does it change anything for the other teams that one more win might have meant a bowl invite -nope. So on paper Bobby Bowden is winningest coach in D-1 football, he knows he is still #2. To the ex-players - they still won all those games on the field. Taking wins away is a joke. Really accomplishes nothing except making the NCAA feel good. Before you blast me, I think Penn State got off light. When he found out what was going on, JoePa should have turned Sandusky in and that would have been the end of it. No lasting scandal and JoePa would have his statue still in place and remembered for doing right thing. I think all who covered up should go to prison as accomplices. The death penality would have served to warn other programs.

myself with the school if they didn't completely clean house of anyone that remotely was involved. Take any reference to those folks out of any area of prominance.
But I think I would have some issues with the NCAA's punishment going forward like the loss of scholarships etc.

After three or four months of denial I would try to reason why good folks have to suffer from things beyond their control. In a couple of years I would blame it all on the folks who think winning is paramount to everything else. If, If I were luck to live long enough I would come to understand that I was part of the problem all along and only one of my heroes deserves the worship I bestow on them.

the same as it is now but with more embarassment. Punish the guilty. If the school representatives from the top down were complicit, then the school as a whole takes the hit.
