Logical thinking regarding Gurley
Oct 10, 2014, 12:11 AM
|
|
Due to his suspension, the rest of the teams UGA has on their schedule may not have to play them with Gurley, with that being said, what's fair is fair. think we would have won against UGA without Gurley? I'm not saying give us a W, but I do believe every team that has lost to UGA should have the loss removed, we would move to 3-1. UGA would be like 0-6 or 0-7, unsure how many games they've played off the top of my head. I just don't think a team should, keep their wins and ranking while having used an ineligible player.
Opinions?

If any team should forfeit their wins its that team with the thieving crablegs down south... That'd really help us out...

Someone who knew exactly what he was doing and obviously did it with intentions on ratting him out... I think it's a shame well-knowing adults try to exploit these kids. He was obviously ill-intentioned. Probably a GA Tech grad.
In the mean time being a theif and a rapist is A-OK.

is so outdated. You can't sell your own signature? Come on how weak is that? Yes it is a rule and he should be punished because it is a rule but the real crime is that the rule even exists.
Since football is a team sport maybe they take half the money earned and put it toward scholarships for walk on football players or some other education related expense. But to say you can't sell your signature is so weak. I used to believe that the schollie was enough, and in reality it probably is but when espn makes hundreds of millions off college football and gurley can't cash in on his own personal fame it reeks of unfair monopoly. The school gives them the established brand as a platform so that should also be taken into consideration but jeez lets get some common sense in the ncaa.

In high school, a player was found ineligable a few weeks after we lost. They had to forfeit and we were given the win. Not sure how it works in the NCAA, but that 'win' got us in the playoffs.

Nope. They vacated the title but we weren't awarded anything.

Typically the NCAA will make teams vacate wins, not forfeit them. The opponent does not get to count the game as a win.

Not logical? So you think a team playing with a player that is now considered ineligible, and getting to keep their wins while he played is logical?

We should be credited with a 21-17 win against the cheaters. 11-1 earns us a spot in the playoffs.

As long as college football has been played. Stars have cashed in. Alums have donated meals and pocket change. It goes on today. This type of story could blow up on any team including Clemson. Manziel successfully navigated the same situation just last year. I'm concerned about any large football program, including Clemson, being the pot that calls the kettle black. Gurley will overcome this situation and be the highest RB drafted next year. His draft stock is said to be going up due to taking less hits. All that said, in my opinion, compared to Reggie Bush payola and what occurred with "A grades for play" at UNC this story is overblown.

I wonder what they would have used if it was SCar in the lead?... and if it were Florida, they probably could choose from a full closet.

TBT, what you've just written is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent post were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on TNET is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
