Have you thought about CLEMSON becoming #1 soon?!

OK, I know that thought is probably there but suppressed..And the sight of it in print would be similar to when I saw years ago where Tiger Basketball was #2.

What I HAVE thought about is what's going to happen.....

if we don't take each game one-at-a-time and win them. If we don't, we'll get beat and then you say goodbye to any chance at #1.
It' time to come down off the high from winning the Georgia game and get realistic about how tough it's going to be to run the table this season.
If the players and coaches focus correctly on each game then the "what ifs" will take care of themselves.

We as fans can think outside of this game as much as we want. It is up to the players and coaches to keep them grounded and not think outside the box too much.

I think we deserve to be top 10..

But I will never say we deserve to have the number 1 rank untill we win the national championship. Its too easy to get lost in hype. That said, I fully believe we have what it takes to get there!

I think beating GA at home by 3 only proved that we should be #8. I think SC will beat GA and that will become more apparent. The media has overacted because GA is in the SEC. However, if GA does beat SC!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bama vs A&M, Ore vs UVA/Tenn, OSU vs CAL
Sep 6, 2013, 9:30 AM

All are possible upsets. Bama looked beatable, Ohio State looked overrated and Cal looked like it could at least put up a bunch of points, and Oregon looked really good but that was a glorified scrimmage. I dont think anyone expects UVA to give them too much, but UVA and Tenn are both underrated at least from a personell standpoint. if 2 of these happen that puts clem as high as #2 in september. That would be awesome.

Not me - sorry - I don't see a #1 team yet.
Now if UGA runs wild over the USUC D, then our D will get much higher marks. Don't forget those 'chunk plays' that absolutely killed us at critical points in the game. A #1 team really doesn't allow a lot of that. I still don't feel that comfortable on 3rd-and-long yet.

Are you guys really football fans who know anything about football? Bama didn't look impressive??
They won 35-10. They have the whole season to unleash things. Do you think for a moment if Morris had a team beat 35-10 he would open up the playbook with Fla St looming the following week?
Get out with no injuries and win the big one that matters.
Now if T A&M comes in and Bama struggles then we can make assumptions about Bama thins year. Until then you have

Bamas O shouldve been able to run and set up play action

at will against VT. D's stack the box and they either run through them anyway or dump it off in the flats or over the top of the D. 90% of what they do is straight forward, theyre just bigger, faster, stronger. Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson, Edie Lacy and Julio Jones's God given ability probably had something to do with this, along with having one of the best o-lines in the country over the past 3 yrs. Not a lot of trickeration when thats who you got on O.
VTs offense is bad. Their QB is awful. Anyone that watches football knows this. At no point after a quick ST TD was the game in question bc Logan Thomas sucks and Johnny football he is not. Fair to say A&M will put up more points than VT, coot?
Bama replaced 3 starters on their o-line from last year. Last year they lost to TAMU and home. This game is at TAMU. Tell me coot, whats so unbelievable that Bama is "beatable."

don't disagree that any team is beatable
I saw Bama at #1 go down in Columbia. I have seen FSU go down multiple times in DV when they were not expected to
I just meant people saying Bama looked bad in a 35-10 win, Clemson could be #1 after a 3 point win at home, Clowney is out of shape, etc are silly basing anything on 1 game
I would not even take anything from a UGA win over USC this year due to seeing USC blow them out and UGA still end up with a shot at the nat champ game
It takes a few weeks to get a feel for a team and their capabilities is all I was focusing on

ha, jk man. A 25 pt win is still a win, but they lost 3 olinemen and their oline didnt look that good Sat. Most knowledgeable fb fans would say that even talented, highly recruited olinemen need game experience to gel and get communication, scheme, etc. down at game speed. That was a legitimate concern going into the season, and after week 1 its a bigger concern. You think Saban told the olinemen to let VTs dlinemen run past them so McCarron could get experience getting flushed out of the pocket? Or stuff the isolation run plays and not get over 100 yds rushing so the punter could get extra reps? New team, new opinion, regardless of sample size.

Being #1 only matters one poll of the season...the last one.

Getting there before then and maintaining it would be pretty cool.
