I think the new format of college football has made it nearly impossible for that to happen
But, I say nearly. It takes a special coach at a special place to do so in this era of the sport.
And we definitely have that
I don’t see any program that you can claim has a true dynasty going right now.
It’s up for grabs, and I think it’s time Dabo will emerge as the nation’s best coach.
I know Kirby kicked his a**, but our team next year will be good enough to beat anybody.
There was enormous progression this year. And with some changes coming, if that defense can transform back into the brick wall that it used to be. Tough luck for everyone.

Nope. There was a time when Clemson and Alabama were on a different level from everyone else. That won't happen again. We might be lucky to see another back to back champ, but I think it's very unlikely.

That is the only way dynasties are going to happen in this new age of college football. They have to basically dominate every one and like to stay where they're at to accomplish the creation of a dynasty.

Will be Oregon and Michigan. Will help the others because these two cannot spend all SEC teams. The rules will be changed because ESPN cannot let their precious SEC teams get outspent.

Consistently at or near the top, yes. Dynasties? Probably not. The teams that could lay claim to the "Dynasty" title have all been 2-3 deep at EVERY position. Most saw playing time during games and were there to step in and eventually step up. Those 2-3 deep players are no longer content with that roll and enter the portal. Dynasties are built. Not bought.

Again, there is another transfer window
But, we are going into an off-season where we have a lot of major players, a lot.
Antonio Williams, Wesco, Moore, Ashton Hampton, TJ Parker, Wade Woodaz, Sammy Brown, ………. I could go on
And if we do indeed keep everybody, that’s a monumental achievement in today’s college football landscape.
We will see, but I think if there’s any way to building a dynasty now, it’s retaining a large pool of players like we have that could go elsewhere for more money

Dynasties are very difficult in the NFL. The league is completely set up for socialism where the team that wins the most is purposelessly put at a disadvantage the next season with the draft and schedule.
Also, every team is prohibited from spending more money on star players then the other teams. (another attempt at "equality")
College football is currently set up where teams can spend what every they want on star players. This will benefit teams that get paid the most by the TV and have wealth donors (like Texas). This will help those teams create dynasties.

On the contrary, it seems like the NFL goes through a carousel of dynasties
You cannot tell me the Chiefs are not in the midst of a dynasty
Nor can you tell me Bill Bellicheck and Tom Brady wasn’t a dynasty.
And they last for as long as the QB remains.
Really all about the QB and HC/OC. Same as any level of football.

Did you see where the NCAA recently lost a lawsuit?
The NCAA argued that the football players should only be able to be on the college football team for 4 years of college/jr college.
The judge said that that rule unlawfully prevents the player from earning NIL.
SMH...imagine a day ahead where an older QB that can no longer cut it in the NFL comes back and plays more college football.

That's not quite what the lawsuit said. The result of that lawsuit is that the NCAA cannot count JUCO years against NCAA limits.
A player cannot "come back" to the NCAA and compete after an NFL career. Their clock is still limited to 5 years after enrollment. I suppose the only way around that is to never play in the NCAA, but it sure would be difficult to make an NFL roster at QB without a college resume.

Right. The lawsuit was filed by a player that started in JUCO.
The lawsuit only applied to JUCO players.
I am lamenting that a player like Jameis Winston may be next to file a lawsuit.
They used to say that players who come from nothing and make it in the NFL often blow all their money.
College QB's are getting paid a few million dollars. So it isn't outside the realm of possibilities.

Maybe for two or three seasons at Big money sponsored schools, The huge schools with big alumni’s, shoot even the coots could buy a season.
They could never do it without paying for it like they did with the “ole ball coach”.

I mean I guess carolina has some momentum. But they aren’t built for a dynasty, nor are they are in the right situation with the competing teams around them.
LSU is a good example of a team that could all the sudden win a championship, but can’t sustain success at all.

Eventually the richest programs will buy all the best players. Without some kind of reasonable framework, thats where this is headed.

It takes stability to have a dynasty. The only way for that to happen is for players to sign contracts of 2-3 years.

Look who just made the playoff. Ohio State, Georgia, Clemson, Oregon, Notre Dame, Penn State, Texas - all perennial powerhouses/top 10 teams for the past decade+. Maybe not quite Texas, but they are clearly re-emerging under Sark.
The landscape has not changed drastically. There are more teams involved because of expansion, but the names at the top are the same, with the notable exception of Alabama due to a coaching change.

I'm not so sure they won't still happen. The way things are set up now, the rich programs get richer so theoretically, parity takes a hit because most programs won't have the financial arsenal to compete at an elite level on a consistent basis. Therefore, we may continue to see the best of the SEC and B1G dominating the landscape for the foreseeable future.

agency is reeled in somehow. But, with only one year to mesh before half the kids move on to the next better offer, even the schools trying to buy a championship will only find lightning in a bottle once in a while.
