I think rivals pulls the okidoke with their older recruiting

rankings...I remember melvin ingram being no better than a 3 star recruit, maybe even a 2 star because I remember he picked b/t us and carolina at the end and it wasn't that big a deal. I thought we both were just trying to get him b/c he was another in-state guy that we could add.

Well turns out he was a stud and should've been a 4 or 5 star type guy...which happens from time to time. But I never remember him having any hype like a 4 star kid would have....yet I go back in rivals site to look his ranking up to see if they had him at a 2 star....and whattya know...he somehow is a 4 star recruit...

Bullcrap. Same with some of our basketball talent...we signed a class of 4 stars with young, t.smith, and bobo that one year and they all are now 3 stars. I think they have someone go back and change up their rankings so they don't look so bad.

ingram was not an instate player, he was from rockingham,n.c. and played in the shrine bowl for n.c. i think he was rated 3 star by some and 4 by others. he played linbacker in hs and was recruited as a mlb.

Smith & Young were both 3*s, not sure about Bobo.

I feel the same way about Toy Phillpott, he has a reputation for inadvertently steering prospects away from us.

think Ingram was high 3 or low 4-- was a LB though ----

believe it was UCS, WF and maybe UT in the mix--don't remember us being heavily involved- he was a NC kid-- he wasn't as low as Branch was rated -- but again- most viewed him as a LB- he grew into DL and kept his athleticism
