No, I'd rather he not be like Dabo. Look backwards, not forward. Let all the Buckeyes wallow in that loss and let it distract you and the team from what's ahead. Excellent approach for those of us who are no fans of The Ohio State University.

Dabo living rent free in Ryan's head. Hope he stays focused on Dabo all season. If so, you won't see him back in the CFP.

Listen Ding Dong, no one was going to beat LSU Monday night.
LSU, basically at home, with hometown crowd, and all the hype, not even Clemson team from last year could have won (would have been closer). Refs weren't going to let it happen.
I'm not bitter, but I'm getting over it. So should you.

Stop Saying the Better Team Won... We didn't Find Out!

What??? Last year's team couldn't beat LSU? And WHY do so many say that the better team won Monday... Clemson DID NOT play to their potential to know that. Who can say that if Trevor was on target as he usually is that the chains would have moved and the defense invigorated to finish strong. I just don't think that LSU was that much better if any than a functioning Clemson team. We lost because we did not play well in several areas... mostly QB and coaches... the offensive calls and the defense needed a deep safety to help with Chase... period!

Um...the coots were never in that game after the coin flip. It was 28-25 late in 3rd qtr vs LSU. They played better Monday night. But let’s not anoint LSU better than last years CU, or even this years CU on any other given night.

I totally disagree....With last year’s D-line and overall better total Defensive depth and athleticism, and the way our offense was gelling at the end of last year, the 2018 Clemson Tigers FOR SURE beat this year’s LSU team going away.

Rookie head coach with no humility. It’s going to be comical when he has less talent the rest of his career. It doesn’t get easier with the know it attitude blaming the refs and players for your failures.
Good luck loser!

He should rethink his choice to be a head coach. Apparently he is not mature enough to handle the job. Being a coach means being an example and mentor to your players. I'm not expecting him to completely forget it, but he should stop agonizing over it. He needs to focus on the future and what needs to be done to encourage his returning players as well as the new recruits. HEY RYAN, BE A POSITIVE INFLUENCE FOR THE PLAYERS AND FANS!!!

While I agree with you, Dabo wasn't always the most mature HC when he first took over either.
The greatest difference I see is that Day has no humility, so maturity might come very slowly. Dabo matured into his position very well because he was willing to grow.
Ryan Day will always believe he is the smartest person in the room or on the sideline.

If the dude can’t move on, its going to be a sad, bitter place to play ball.
But I disagree with the assertion that OSU had little chance to beat LSU. Its all about match-ups and strengths. I think their DBs are more ‘shutdown’ than ours; maybe defended some of those balls better. And I think they would have stuck with Dobbins/run game more than Clemson did with ETN. LSU probably still would have won…but I hesitate to say OSU had little or no chance to stick with LSU.

From what I have seen of Coach Day's thought processes since I started paying attention, he does not seem to be the high-end coach that Urban Meyer was. Day basically has won all of his games with Urban's players. I think in a year or two we will see that Day is not as good a coach as he thinks he is and tOSU will start to regret promoting him.

OSU has the #4 class this year and so far, #1 next year. Depends on the service, but they are (or will be) near the top, just where they were when Urban was there. So if Day can win with Urban’s players, why do you think he won’t win with his own? Time will tell.

The Ohio State whining had subsided, Day sends a fresh blast of immaturity out there. Perhaps he was emboldened by the ESPN Power Index that shows them at #1 (that’s right, 1?
And what is he trying to infer here? That the title game would have been closer if they were playing?
He needs an enema.

that they intend to use the loss to us to motivate them in the off season - to drive them to work harder and focus more.
Maybe we could use our loss in a similar fashion - to re-examine our offensive philosophy and maybe get a little more junk-yard dog in our mentality.

What a pansy, every team loses games. Just because you felt like you got jobbed by the refs doesn't mean you did,I was thinking Clemson was getting jobbed by the refs. Matter of perspective and I would think a head coach of a football team would understand that. He sounds like a blubbering Bucknut fan pulled from the stands

Remember the loss at FSU in 2014?
Jan 16, 2020, 9:45 PM
|
|
Was one of the most heartbraking losses in my lifetime of watching Clemson football. They were ranked #1, we went into their house and we had the game until one of RBs fumbles the ball with a minute left to go in which they kicked a FG in OT to win the game. There were many other huge uncommon mistakes as to why we lost (bad snap over Watson's head inside our own 5 yard line that resulted in no points, Mackenzie Alexander slipping and falling down which resulted in a TD for FSU) but did we ever hear the complain from dabo as we are hearing from Ryan Day? No. Dabo, at the time, said himself that it was his toughest loss but we moved on and didnt continue to make excuses. Ryan Day should learn from dabo
