in the transfer portal. Guy like 6’0/220 lbs. Our RB depth chart is very young and inexperienced going into 2025 season.
Thoughts ?

The problem is, right now we have
1. Haynes
2. Adams
3. Green
4. Eziomume
5. Randall
6. Davidson
7. Henderson

I am glad we had Mafah; however he was not a true tailback. He would have been more of a fit in Coach Fords' days as a fullback.

Apparently Mafah wasnt a Mafah type runner***

Is Henderson getting a look at WR or RB? With Haynes blowing out his knee that late in the season, are we expecting him back by the time the season starts? If not, we're essentially looking at the backfield from the Texas game. Really need to grab someone, or hope that Davidson hits early like Etienne, or there's going to be some real issues to start the season.

Idk, I think EZ takes a big step but was concerning not to see him get more snaps during the year. There was plenty of games we had big leads where I thought we'd see more of our RB's (with the first stringers) than just mafah. Leads me to believe they didn't know the playbook or something. It was mafah or bust... with a few Haynes sprinkled in. Gideon is the real deal so if he's not getting snaps then something is wrong.

That part. We had many opportunities to develop those young guys and didn’t. I think the RB room is good. Randall is about twenty pounds shy of being Derrick Henry. EZ and Gideon have a chance at being elite. We have some dudes.

Great points Clemgalalways®

Randall is a very strong and tough runner. We have got to find a more prominent role for him. Can’t afford another season with a severely banged up RB.

7 ships (maybe 6 if Henderson moves to slot) used for a position which uses one player at a time on the field. If you load up one position, then the depth at other positions suffers.

The thought that a 6-2 230 pound back is more likely to pick up a yard than a 5-10 200 pound back is silly as getting the yard is more about timing, picking the best hole and hitting the spot quickly. We saw this when Haynes picked up a yard late in the season when our big back was stuffed all game.

And DBs, and a punter, and some OL, and at least one more good edge.

The TP guys are a start, but don't address every need.

Can we get a special teams coach from the portal?

As long as your adding RB’s get a few who run 3.2 in the 40.
Make sure they can jump real high( I like it when they hurdle tacklers)
The ones that move just as fast side to side as they do forward are really good. And I like spend moves too!
It also helps if they are intelligent and know all the plays on offense and the defensive scheme they can face!
This is not an exhaustive list so feel free to add you own wishes about these Mail order RB’s

If we get one that can run a 3.2 scientists will come running. Even a 4.2 RB is rare. CJ Spiller set the internet on fire running a 4.27 and 4.28 unofficially. Bo Jackson ran an unofficial 4.1. That’s insanely rare. Only a handful of RB belong to the sub 4.3 club.

Yeah I know that but it’s my wish list and from what I have been told anything you could ever want in a player is in the transfer portal! All you got to do is order them, so I want RB’s that are faster than any human on earth has ever been!

Transfers are looking for PT. Not many good RBs would transfer somewhere

they'd have to join a deep RB room and compete for PT or a situational role. Unless it was a bonafide stud RB, that's what it would be.

I personally hope he blows up in Spring ,but as of right now, he's done nothing at Bama to say he's gonna be a starter day 1.

220 pounds is not enough power. 250-260 pounds with muscular 26" thighs. A man even the defensive line is afraid to get in front of.
