Just heard a discussion on a podcast. They were playing over/under.
Over/under - punts by FSU, 7
One guy picked the over. Another guy said, "Let's see we will get 12 possessions so that means we'll have 11 punts. I'll take the over easily."
The third guy said, "No, your math is wrong. We will get the ball 12 times. We'll have 6 turnovers, so that leaves 6 punts. I'll take the under."

I think it might be a 40-24ish type of game.

I know you're down on the defense, but FSU scored 16 on SMU, 14 on Cal, 12 on Memphis at home.
Our reserves are as good or better than SMU, Cal and Memphis starters. Especially with all the reps they got in September.

NC State scored 20 against Louisiana Tech, 24 against Northern Illinois, yet 35 against us.
App State scored 14 against South Alabama, and 20 against us.

So using this logic, our starters will be on the bench

in the 3rd quarter and FSU will score on our 3 and 4 deep.
That means we'll drop 40+ points on FSU in the first half... I'll take it!

I'll take it too. I was just pointing out that just because FSU hasn't scored lots of points against other teams, doesn't mean they won't score for example 24 points against us. Especially against our backups. And with DJ benched.

More touchdowns by us = more possessions by them, thus more opportunities to score and against 3rd, 4th & 5th string guys.

App was losing 42-0 before they scored
NCSU was down 28-0 before they scored
Stanford was down 17-0 before they scored
Basically meaning those games were over and the score was not indicative of the game, so no matter what the opponent score it was garbage time and nothing of concern.
I would venture to say the same will happen this weekend, maybe 28-0 before FSU hits the board...unless our team is reading all the clippings and get overconfident and FSU comes out on fire.

Our two-deep, ESPECIALLY if Woods plays, is very good. Probably about as good as our current national ranking. If we leave our starting D in the whole game and FSU scores more than 17 then they (our defense) drastically underperformed.

Ha! Well as a Clemson guy I hope number 3 happens. It would have been better for FSU to be good for the ACC and Clemson if we win. But as a fan that hates NIL and Portal as it stands today, I have said teams that live and die by the portal will find themselves losing more than winning. FSU is an example. I am sure more will find themselves like FSU as the season unfolds.

Not sure why you all keep saying that. It's not true. Norvell doesn't want to live by the portal. He's stated it several times. FSU’s recruiting well. He had nothing when he came. I'd say he did pretty darn good last year. His big mistake was putting trust into dju. Not saying it's all djs fault, because in fairness, he's had drops. But I'll stand by my opinion that even some of those drops was where dj put the ball.
So I guess you hate Dabo, because Dabo has always been for nil.

Guess you missed the part about "hate the NIL and portal as it 'stands today".
Norvell brought in 12 transfers in '23 and 17 transfers in '24. A lot more starters are transfers than recruits. All coaches say they would rather recruit HS vs transfer portal, even Prime said that in interview last week but the numbers don't lie. Kirby said it best that he just uses portal to fill holes like 4 transfers in '23.
And I will stand by what a said, teams that are building rosters vs filling holes will forever have more down yrs vs great years. I do believe Dabo will have to take a few portal guys this yr because if you don't recruit top 10 HS classes then you will have holes needing to be filled.

The problem is going to be perception and how other schools use it to recruit against them. Last year's huge success was totally equated with his success in the portal not recruiting. Now the year after, with a portal QB, you have a horrible season which will probably set their recruiting back a good bit. The question then becomes how much does it set it back (how many more decommits) and for how long? If this team quits down the stretch, would venture to say there's an exodus and this sets Norvell back 3 years.

She's a pathological liar who has accomplished absolutely nothing in the last four years except help destroy a once robust economy and maintain open borders which is an ongoing threat to national security.

but whatever helps you sleep at night princess.
ANYONE who even remotely tries to argue that the country is better off now than it was four years ago is either blind, just lying to themselves, or some of both.
Four more years of failed liberal economic policies will completely bankrupt the American middle class. When Kamala ran for President, should could not garner even 1% of the vote. She is the least popular VP in American history, and now she's running on a platform of promising to fix the problems that she helped create. Do you really want those who created the problem in charge of the solution?
Here's a thought: if you want any of your parents' inheritance to be left for you, vote carefully in November.

And you have to account for at least one time in which Norvell decides to go for it on 4th down in FSU territory, lieu of punting.

Brett - what are the main FSU message board these days? Just curious to read what your brethren are thinking/saying. I feel like Warchant used to be but has died down a good bit.

Maybe a little more. But, with the turn to the east just before landfall, Tallahassee missed the eyewall completely. Was on the west side. Trees down, power outages, but minor structural damage.

If its 12 possessions, then it could be 5 or 6 punts, with 4 or 5 turnovers
