Interesting Observation-our soccer and football programs

When we were strong in Football way back in the 80's, our soccer program was very strong and won few championships if memory serves me correctly. The same seems to be happening again and lets hope a championship in both sports.

and I was a Grad Assistant from 85 to 87.
During that seven year period, we won three ACC Championships and two National Championships.
However, if you go back a few more years from 1972 to 1979, Clemson won eight consecutive ACC Championships and finished in the Final Four 4 times (2nd, 3rd and 4th twice).
That equates to 11 Championships over a 14 year period. In the three years Clemson did not win the Championship, they finished 2nd which was an incredibly impressive run by any standard.
Coach Ibrahim wasn't always the easiest person to play for but he had a keen eye for talent, he was a darn good coach, and he knew how to get the most out of the players he had.

the SDSU striker Eric had enough of us chanting his name that he shot us the bird during the game. Good times.

It was freezing and I was sick as a dog, but that was an awesome game. My brother played soccer, so we came to a bunch of games in the 80's. That was the only one where it felt like a football game from the crowd point of view.

around 1982 (forgot his name) and I believe he became the kicker for the football team. I remember taken the ball from him and putting a move on him...

Baseball wasn't very good during that time period. I'd like to see football and soccer succeed like they did then, but see baseball succeed too. I'd love to see a school year similar to what Louisville had last year.
