When we won the National Championship was our strength of schedule still pretty weak ? There's a lot to consider with our performance on the field. One thing that keeps coming back to me is Iron Sharpens Iron- we must not of been in a sharpening mode then but we sure as hell are not now. It's horrible - we never get tested. To me our lack of competition has a lot to do with our problem. Get out of conference we are in or die.

We just fail a lot now

If you want this roster and this staff to go to the SEC- we will fail a lot then too. Some will argue more.

Actually this is not true and simply repeated by SEC fans who just assume it is, which then it gains acceptance in larger circles. Our schedule was pretty tough those two years

Its considered weak regardless of the year. Its the same ESPN take each time. When we got in in lost it was because we didn't play anybody and it finally showed against a good team. When we got in and won, you guessed it, it was because our schedule was so weak we were rested and not banged up. I remember one year they talked about us going undefeated and still not going in. We schedule 2 SEC teams each year, so best we can do when in ACC

Last week's rankings had the same amount of SEC & ACC teams in the top 12.***

Two of our losses were to top 15 teams and the other a top 30 team. You play the
schedule you have and playing a bunch of middle of the road sec teams would not make
it any better.

In this case I think iron sharpens iron would be more related to our team. Good depth chance of losing your starting spot makes team much better. We just do not have any depth so no one is pushed this makes it very hard to be an elite team.
