Based on what? The entire year has been a struggle against very poor opposition not counting UGA and USC who both beat us. SMU has a solid running and passing game and a duel threat QB with big numbers. Simply put, the Tiger defense is awful against duel threat QB's on teams with a pulse. As for the offense, I see the potential for some passing. I'm a Cade fan and we have enough at WR. Running is an issue. Mafah is injured, playing at 70%, and the next man up looks to be about 185 lbs and runs a 4.6. He's like a smaller version of Lynn J Dixon who is not someone that strikes fear into any opposing defense. I am not convinced that J Haynes is our best alternative option but I have not seen enough of D Eziomume to argue that he is any better. We do know he is 20 lbs heavier and obviously faster with a 10.84 100 meters as a junior in HS. I didn't understand why we were favored to beat USC and I have no idea why the spread is as close as it is. Hoping for a surprise and maybe even get Sammy Brown on the field.

We were favored to beat Scar because we were the better team. That was obvious on the field. We blew it. Maybe SMU is better but they still gotta play the game.

Haynes is faster than a 4.6 guy, and we were favored to beat SC because we were better at the time. A guy makes a 3 and 16 run and suddenly it totally negates a pregame spread. We lost by one play, after playing notoriously bad. Play calling sucked. Go back and watch the first couple qtrs when we actually had Sammy Brown on the field and took shots down the field to our WRs instead of handing it off to a hurt Mafah for no gain or 2 yards.

I was at the game with my binoculars and spotter. First half was the best we have played all season IMO. Yes, Sammy had 6 tackles in the first quarter. Looked great. Coaching staff is part of the team. We played our usual game the second half. We were gashed for 260 yards on the ground for the game. I look for more of the same or worse versus SMU with the injuries and coming off a tough loss.

Yeah I think it will come down to not missing fg's and not turning the ball over. Hopefully SMU makes a couple big mistakes.

We can win and I think we do .. betting money seems to be going our way as well, down from -2.5 to -2. Hopefully our coaches don’t over(under) think it again and get out coached (Sammy Brown) ..

game. And they have no experience playing for anything. At least we've been there, done that before. They've had a decent little run this year, but BYU is the only ranked team on their schedule... and they lost.

hope you are right but cant see it. been waiting all year for a complete game against a good team but havent see it. Klubnik is too inconsistent, play calling is terrible, no threat in the run game, refusal to play our best linebacker ( and only true talent at LB ) , poor coaching and game management? why should i all of a sudden feel that this staff has figured anything out? Hard to feel good about a close game with the special teams we have displayed all year.

We have the talent to win.
I'm not confident given the performances vs Louisville and SC.
The performance vs SC wasn't horrible but it was puzzling.
I'm concerned we will have another "How the #### did we let that happen?" game.
but with some luck and effort we could win by multiple touchdowns.

This has nothing to do with "taking care of business". It's all about players, availability, talent, and coaching. There's been shortfalls in these elements, and we'll see if it gets exposed more. Series by series.

agree 100 %, we seem to be outcoached in every game we play anymore. It is obvious that DABO wasnt making the decisions during the title years. He had experienced coaches helping him and now with those coaches gone, it is obvious how handicapped we are from a coaching perspective. I have to think that this is also hurting QB development because we have struggled with back to back 5 star QB talent to win at a high level.
