I tend to think they Blindly follow Dabo no matter what. If Dabo said the sky was green they’d come on and argue that it is indeed green.
We all love Dabo and he all but has a lifetime contract to coach here. With that being said some of us have brought up some of the bad decisions he’s made. I’m not pro portal. I just know it’s not feasible to compete at the highest level without utilizing it. I was a fan of the Wes Goodwin hire. But about midway through this season I finally said nope he ain’t the one. There are people that defended him all the way up until he was fired and some still say he shouldn’t have been let go.
The next step is to completely commit to utilizing NIL.

As usual… JCantrell is spot on.
I don’t like the portal an NIL an all of this either but it’s completely ridiculous to truly believe you can win at the highest level without playing the game.
It’s hard to believe it’s taken this long for Dabo to jump on board but finally… it appears he’s admitting he has to use it.
As J said… now we have to utilize NIL to recruits up front. I hate it as much as anyone but it’s just the way it is. You want the 5 star guys? You have to pay for them up front.

Dabo is using the Portal the ay he always said he would use if he used. Difference between this year and others, everyone is Expecting the ACC to raise limit to 105 this summer.

Rarely have I seen posts that touted "wholesale cutting/Yanking Scholarships" but feel free to provide a post or two that reflect that sentiment. Where most of us have always been is for a "targeted and highly selective" approach that would help fill gaps and add depth, (just like we are now seeing Dabo actually do).
We've always just wanted Dabo to use all the tools available to us and everyone else, and recruit both (HS and portal) to our advantage and to address our needs.

That's just it, though. Rarely if ever does a portal pumper list out players to cut, or scholarships that should not have been offered, in order to make room for all those they want us to add. I mean, 85 is 85. Something has to give somewhere but that reality seems to be lost too often.

Both things you said are not true.
1. The 105 scholarship limit has nothing to do with Dabo using the portal right now, since wehave to remain at 85 scholarships until July.
2. Nobody asked for Dabo to cut players. Dabo had a tendency of offering low-level, 3 star developmental projects late in the recruiting cycle. Dabo could have chosen to find impact players from the portal instead. A good example of this was when Bryce Davis decommitted from us. Dabo could have decided to offer someone late in the cycle, which he had done in the past. Instead, Dabo recognized that we needed immediate help at DE and chose to save that spot for someone in the portal. That is what we wish Dabo would have done the entire time.

It’s especially obnoxious now because the pumpers are posting as if those of us who wanted Dabo to evolve for the betterment of the program are somehow mad that he finally is doing exactly what we were begging him to do. He finally got rid of Goodwin and is now getting top talent out of the portal, that’s literally what 75% of the complaints were about

Then you must be anti-message boards as well, since this is exactly the forum for these type of discussions and has no real impact on what Dabo decides to do, no matter what others may think. It is purely entertainment and should not be taken so seriously by anyone on either side of this debate.

Dabo most certainly consults Tnet for all major decisions, hopefully we can get gameday communications online soon so he can get our valuable opinions on play calling next season...
I have a theory JK is actually Dabo in disguise, being super critical of himself and getting regularly sent to Jamaica to keep us off his trail

Using the portal was/is not the main issue. The main issue being Dabo's unwillingness to make upfront NIL agreements with players. We saw this with eight decommits in the 2025 class plus a couple of misses. Hopefully Dabo's willing to pay transfers upfront money will reach over to HS players in the 2026 class. Otherwise, our goose is still cooked.
Also, we have a ton or good RBs on scholarship so IMO we have other positions with greater need such as punter and DE. I realize we took one DE but still have little functional depth.

This current transfer portal we have is one of the worst things to happen to the sport of college football in my lifetime. It makes a mockery of any sort of connection between player and institution. That said, if we are going to remain competitive, we probably have to use it at least some. I hate it.
