and now understand why all my wife's cousins who "wear the ring," are a law and a code unto themselves.

For a school with an acceptance rate of 98-99%, the ones who finish are very proud of that ring, but getting in and finishing are very different things, especially back in the day.

Seriously, if you're staying in SC after graduation, being a Citadel grad is a very beneficial thing.

They take care of their own.

I have a lot of friends who are Citadel grads and to a man they are very loyal to their school and each other, so hats off to them.

The Citadel. Both go back for class reunions and have annual guy weekends with thei respective friend groups.

My first job after graduating Clemson was in Charleston. I’d meet people and when asked what do you do? Oh I’m a civil engineer. What year did you graduate the Citadel? Ummm, there are other schools outside of Charleston you know. It was funny. But lots of great folks and some cool citadel bars that were def not for outsiders.

My son is a Grad, and I can tell you this, the bond that these men have together is for life. Being a local in Summerville, I had roommates and friends of his at my house for four years. My wife and I have memories and stories we’ll never forget.That being said, my son and I will be at the game Saturday wearing our Clemson gear, my son will be wearing his Citadel ring. Go Tigers
