That's speculation, not fact. We know for a FACT that they haven't had five 10 win seasons.

Here are a few UGA and Clemson facts for ya Dawg....
Aug 2, 2016, 9:53 PM
|
|
11,6,7,12,12,5,16,6,7,10,4,10,11,6,
Above are Georgia's recruiting rankings by Rivals for the past 14 years...Avg. 8.78 * none were worse than 16th
70,6,17,18,17,12,39,20,8,14,14,13,4,6.....Avg.18.42
Above are Clemson's recruiting rankings by Rivals for the past 14 years
Georgia's Final AP rankings since Dabo took over
NR,9,,NR,5,11,NR,NR,13
Clemson's final AP rankings since Dabo took over
2,15,8,11,22,NR,24,NR
To sum it up, Georgia has had much more to pull from over the past 14 years and a heckuva lot less to show for it than Clemson. Georgia has ZERO SEC titles and their best bowl win is either the Outback or the Capitol One, whichever you prefer.
Clemson has TWO ACC titles, Two Orange Bowl Trophies, and an appearance in the 2015 National Championship Game.
In addition, a record 9 Clemson players were drafted last year. That is 4 more than Georgia....
If I was a young stud, and I had my pick between Georgia and Clemson, there is no doubt where I would go. NO DOUBT AT ALL.

Playing time is FAR from a guarantee here

I would love to have him and playing time isn't always the biggest deciding factor, but I'm sure he knows he would come into an extremely crowded QB room.

Agree! With Eason going to Georgia and Johnson coming to Clemson, those two are probably going to be his main competition for a starting position. Unfortunately (for him), I don't believe he is going to get that much of a look at either during the upcoming season. While I'm sure he is a competitor who has confidence in his own abilities, I would think that 'who' he would be competing against for the quarterback job would be somewhat of a factor in his decision.
This is an interesting one to watch, for sure!

Yea. If he commits, it could be multiple years that some of these guys are sitting.
Say Hunter Johnson loses the job to Bryant next year. Bryant will only be a junior.
So then if Bryant doesn't leave to NFL, Bryant has to be favorite to start his senior year...although you have sophomore Hunter Johnson on the bench.

Basically. Worse case and realistic scenario is hunter Johnson starts only his junior and senior years.
Oh and in my previous post sorry for disregarding Zerrick Cooper. Chase Brice will be great in the classroom

The thing is, top QB's all know the drill. The truly great ones are not afraid of competition.

I doubt he is scared of competition. All of the ones we have recruited like what we have to offer, both on the field and off, and they are not afraid to compete, and they know what the competition is coming in. Granted, some will be disappointed, and they might transfer, but if they aren't on the field, it will be because there is a better guy in front of them. I hope he chooses us, though. I think he is very good.

I think the jury is still our on Kirby Smart and what kind of team he's going to field.
Meanwhile, we all know we have a proven commodity on offense and all the talent in the world for him to throw to, with a great offensive line in front of him.
If UGA stumbles, we'd be in a good position to benefit.

I hope and pray Trevor comes to Clemson

He is incredible in every area of being a great QB. I look forward to him being a Tiger.
The competition is greater at Georgia than even him becoming a Tiger even though most know Hunter and crew are awesome too but according to the media's build up of Jake From.
I made a comment about needing him yesterday and someone thought I didn't know about Hunter. I just think after or in addition to Hunter Johnson and the QB crew we need the number 1 QB and player Trevor Lawence. He will be an awesome Tiger and he's not afraid of competing with Hunter or the others.
Go Tigers!!!

Most believe he will be committing to UGA, especially if he makes his commitment within the next few weeks like some suppose. I'm more than happy with Hunter Johnson anyway. The good thing I suppose by him going to Georgia is that in the future the Coots will have to deal with playing him.

He's absolutely no Georgia lock right now. Clemson has as good a chance as any to land him.

Some of us went to both schools. If asked, I always say my experience was that Clemson has outstanding academics. Better than UGA. Maybe that'll be a deciding factor. His coach sez he's a good student too.

if recruiting is any gauge of success at all then I think CKS is going to be at GA for a very long time.

Fans will be fans, and I include myself, so they are inherently biased. Based upon what they "so called" recruiting experts are saying, most of them are saying UGA. I have this feeling that UGA is putting everything on the line not to lose this guy. That includes not only pressuring Trevor, but also his family. I have heard several stories from past how UGA fans are uniformly led to get involved with pressuring these notable Georgia recruits, from when they see them and their families in a restaurant or a grocery stores, to just about any public venue. Yes this could possibly irritate and push the recruit away, but I believe this tactic and the addition of the full scale of blowing smoke up their you know what's, will likely land them Trevor Lawrence. If it is close, as it seems to be, then advantage the home team UGA. Sorry for dampening your day, but as I said, this is also the opinion of the majority. Let's just enjoy the incredibly talented QB that we do have committed, Hunter Johnson!

Speaking of Charlie Whitehurst, I sure hope that when it comes time for him to put up his NFL cleats and retire, that he will come back to Clemson and work as a grad assistant coach. I believe that he would make a good coach.
