Dad should be paying his way.
If Brian wants to help his son, and the program get better. He would say, don't worry CU, I got this 1.

If he is as good as his Dad, he will be well worth a schollie, no matter how much cash his Dad has. This isn't a need's based program. It's about fielding the best. IMO

After all B-Dawk has done for Clemson during and after his career here, it's the least we could do. He obviously has talented genetics and could develop under Coach Reed

He is Brian Dawkins son. He probably has more talent than half of our league already.

Same as the Davis twins

Dads a clemson great that is still highly involved in recruiting and mentoring players so dabo feels he owes his kid a scholly. The kid is undersized for the position like the Davis boys the only thing is there is only one Dawkins. I don't mind dabo doing this however as long as we don't lose any other recruits over lack of open spots at that position. The positive impact of having people like Jeff Davis and especially Brian Dawkins helping out with recruiting is well worth giving their kids a free ride.

The Davis twins aren't undersized. Especially for 17 years old.

with this personally, BUT, if i'm a recruit who's clearly more talented and waiting on an offer, and I see little dawkins get that offer, i'd be a little put off
have a feeling we don't know all the details re: the offer (grey shirt, delay until 2016, academic scholly for a year, etc)
put again, agree that b dawks kid should have a free ride

I don’t have a problem with Dawkins offer especially

if it’s a greyshirt. Poppa Dawkins was not highly recruited out of HS either. May just be a late bloomer.
Late bloomer—I also think Kanyon Tuttle should get a grey shirt. Calls himself a late bloomer & runs a 4.4. Greyshirt would give him an extra year to hit weight room & fill out. Plus, it puts us in better position with his cuz Shy.
Some have written that Perry has been no help in recruiting Shy. Which I find odd that Perry is expected to recruit his nephew, while they ignore his son. Perry is probably handling it better than I would.
Dabo’s best recruiting would be if he recruited Poppa Dawkins to join the coaching staff & become Weapon—X on the recruiting trail. What defensive player wouldn’t want to come play for Dawk. Dylan Sumner—Gardner would be pissed about playing at Boise State. Oh well

How many ex-Clemson Tigers are in the NFL HOF or have finished with NFL HOF careers?
One.
B-Dawk, and he still supports Clemson in many ways!

I love it when we can offer the former players sons (and daughters in other cases) to come to Clemson. We have missed a few due to the player wanting to go anywhere but where Dad went but I am all for getting them to Clemson is at all possible. BTW they don't always get scholarships. But if they deserve it then I am all for it.

There are a lot of idiots on here who don't know anything about recruiting talent, developing football players, or much else regarding college football who question offers such as this. One thing you probably do not know is that B Dawkins himself was a VERY late offer from Clemson. Coach Stockstill was recruiting Patrick Sapp and went to watch him play basketball only to see this athletic freak of a kid on Patrick's team. That was Dawkins' shot to get a Clemson offer. He worked his butt off at CU and the rest is history. No problems whatsoever with this offer.
