The Clemson Tigers may have found a way to leave the Atlantic Coast Conference and get out of the massive Grant of Rights deal for the ACC, causing another massive shift in conference realignment.

...but I had read some weeks ago that certain states have legal rights to break contractual obligations for any gov't-funded entities....and that the State of SC was one of those states (?).

Take all this with a grain of salt....but what I think I understood was that "if" Clemson could convince state house politicians to break the contract with the ACC, they legally could do so as Clemson as a state-supported, public institution.

I would think that at least half of the state’s legislators are USuC fans/ grads. That probably wouldn’t help us
