That a lot will be expected of Peter Woods this coming season and I believe he will be an early success story.

The Tigers really need great play at that position to become a dynamic defense again.

Is Woods ready to step into that role!

With the veteran depth at DT, I think Woods provides the edge setting skill at DE opposite XT. Otherwise the Tigers are probably undersized at that side of the field or atleast not as balanced with a run supporting DE. Woods takes away something offenses would try to exploit with edge rushing over pursuit from both DEs.

Unfortunately, I remember what we were told about Adam Randall last year. We were told he was the 2nd coming of Sammy Watkins. He was the most game ready freshman ever to step on campus. Needless to say, I was quite disappointed. Hopefully, Mr. Woods will live up to the hype.

I think the big difference is that we got to see Woods in the spring game. Nothing we saw countered what we were hearing from Dabo and media members. Randall was injured before the spring game if I recall. Then came back early in ACL recovery terms. I think our expectations could never get a realistic evaluation of Adam from a fan perspective.
