Demand for purchase of football season ticket packages seems

to have decreased. Usually around Feb. or March of past 6 years, I've been selling my lower Deck North season ticket and parking package for a considerable markup. This year I put off advertising until mid March, and after looking at the schedule & realizing only 6 home games, I put ad on with almost no markup. And after 2 weeks of having ad run, not a single inquiry. What's up with this, ye say?

I believe there are a lot of people who evaluated their lives over the past year. Many have concluded that paying thousands of $$$ per year to see 6 or 7 football games in person is crazy. Especially so when every freaking game is on TV and you can typically buy tickets on the secondary market for well under face value.
Combine this with the players becoming woke it seems the house of cards is a little shaky.

the whole left moving political movements just broke my spirit a bit. I did some thinking on it and decided to back away.
I had stopped spending money on pro sports a few years back when the kneeling started(no more merchandise or tickets), then stopped watching Pro sports completely a couple years later.
But, they have made it clear they don't want me as a fan anyway, so the NFL/NBA/MLB are probably happy.
SO now that money will be held back from Clemson sports and go towards other improvements or types of entertainment.

True. IPTAY does that. They collaborated with StubHub, saw what people were getting in what sections and then jacked up the seat equity to take it all. Those nice new IPTAY offices didn’t come cheap.
When Dabo hangs it up someday and the demand drops and whale donors stop, the current crew grinning and slapping themselves on the back at the great job they are doing milking Dado’s success will simply bolt.

seats for about 12 years, with exception of 2020 reassignment to upper deck for 1 year. Iptay'er since they gave grads a free membership upon graduation in 1992. Paid dues since 93 and put time in being assigned upper deck south for years. TigerNet ran an article 2 or 3 weeks back saying CUAD expected a packed Death Valley this fall. Lots of folks pre-sell their packages in order to have the buyer forking over the $$ upon Clemson deadlines. And by the way, according to their terms of last year, you did not have to buy season tickets to maintain your standing with seating. Some got zero tickets, some got zIptay refunds. These customers that passed on last year were promised to not be penalized for this 2021 year.

It used to be that if you were a long time donor and season ticket holder, through thick and thin - and there were some thin times - you eventually got really good seats. Selling some of those with the “equity” built up over years you could get the tickets you keep paid for basically. Still go to games. Still have fun. Clemson was way more generous than say Bama on how many seats you could buy. Didn’t take a huge donation to get 8 seats. Sell 4, get your 4 for free. We sat next to some people that had 35 seats, mostly South Lower.
The “seat equity plan” is IPTAY’s way of taking all that now. There is really no advantage to being a season ticket holder anymore, except maybe away game tickets and Championship games at face. Just buy what you want off StubHub and let someone else make the huge investment that may or may not payoff.

IPTAY is our fundraiser. I when we decided to support football and an increased staff that we were sold would be essential to a championship football, IPTAY responded. Remember it is essential for Clemson to pay three football coaches 13.4 million a year to coach.

I think for folks looking on the secondary market there's too much uncertainty about capacity, what games you might get if you can't get tickets for all, where your assigned seats might be, etc.
People could deal with that sort of uncertainty if those issues were resolved say before Memorial Day, but if it is going to come down to August like last year, then people will say screw it, I'll just buy single game tickets on Stubhub (because sure as hell there won't be single game ticket sales again in 2021).
I bought season tickets for both Clemson football and the NFL last fall, and I was allowed to go to zero games (my state quarantine rules if i had travelled to South Carolina were too onerous for my job). Nevertheless I'm buying both pairs of season tickets this fall. I can hope.

Starting March 31, 2021, everyone 17 and older in SC can make an appointment to receive a covid 19 vaccination if the want one. with this being the case, I really don't see a reason for seating to be limited in DV this coming FB season.
I do think that in order to prevent a non vaccinated person from contracting the covid virus, every person entering Death Valley for the purpose of seeing a schedule FB game this coming season, they must show their vaccination card, showing that they have had both vaccination shots, with a valid picture ID. And deny anyone without both, the vaccination card, accompanied with a valid picture ID. Do that, and DV should be back to the same fan level as pre covid 19 virus, with the same, or greater noise level without anyone dying bc of the covid 19 virus!!!!

Sorry that you feel that your life/safety, and the life/safety of everyone you come in contact with isn't more important than seeing a live sporting event. I will venture to guess that a IPTAY donation isn't worth one death of another IPTAY member that has been paying dues for 40-50 years, or one that just join IPTAY today. The IPTAY members that would be dying, would be the older members that have been paying IPTAY most of their lives...
The covid 19 virus vaccination is free, and it should be a must have before packing 80+ thousand into Death Valley, Go Tigers!!!!

I thought it made it clear that seeing a sporting contest is NOt as important to me as refusing the vaccine. I apologize if my post was confusing.
Just wish I would know about the rule sooner than later.
We are Past the donation deadline so too late for that. Hopefully they will determine the rules before ticket money is due. I imagine iptay would refund us like they did last year so I'm not too worried about it. They've been pretty reasonable so far.

I am optimistic about being at DV this fall. I'll be vaccinated, and since my daughter's free weekends are limited, I can only go to a few games, and I have previewed that with IPTAY who told me that they would work with me to make sure I had seats for the games we could make.
P.S. that discussion was earlier this year when I got a call from IPTAY thanking me for my donation and giving me the name of a contact person at IPTAY who I could be talking to. I think they are very concerned about renewals.

It’s gotten out of hand and I think a lot of people have said nuff. I enjoy going to games more so than watching on t.v, but you factor in now that players are consistently wanting to be treated as employees along with a paid for education.
I said at the time the woke Summer of ‘20 was turning some fans off. And it could not have come at a worse time as they were then asking fans to donate money for a year you weren’t even eligible to get your tickets Fall’20. Add to that a horrible home schedule , decreased parking options, and lack of facilities inside Memorial Stadium along with going through a Airport checkpoint to get into the stadium.
Hopefully all this doesn’t make our new players “equality”, “love”, “ BLM” , “reparations” , or “justice” transfer to another school!

The whole Wokeness of the team last year turned off a lot of people. You couldn't see it in fan turnout due to Covid.
Also if they due start requiring vaccine passports to go to games that makes no sense. If someone wants to take a vaccine and they feel they are now protected, someone who isn't vaccinated can't hurt them. Also if someone wants to be not vaccinated and take that risk, that is on that person, just like if someone wants to ride a motorcycle without a helmet. They determine the level of risk they want to take and live their life.
Also, the vaccine shouldn't be mandatory for anything, it is not approved by the FDA, it has not been fully tested, no one knows the long term potential side effects on an entirely new type of vaccination. If you feel it is safer to have the vaccine then go for it, if you feel safer not then do that, simple as that, shouldn't be a requirement for any part of life.

Where does it end.. ...and how far will it go. Will we all get Silkwooded before entering a stadium?

Yes, I get all the reasons named. A move out of state for employment combined with the seat tax knocked me out after 45 years. No way to justify the spend. I get offered an extra ticket frequently but the parking nightmare sometimes dulls the urge. Being elderly, the electronic ticket also makes me uncomfortable. Had a friend that went to see the Tigers for the first time in years during this past season. He was unable to purchase a ticket because all he had was a flip phone? He said screw it, he's not buying a phone to see a game. I had paper tickets to games 2 years ago but didn't attend last year - is it going all electronic or do season ticket holders have an option?

Vandy, ark, and kentucky are good teams.
You shouldn't pick on people with limited mental capacity.

Yep, you are right. Maybe her should have looked at his own schedule before declaring someone else's not so attractive.

It's a combination of factors.

1. Uncertainty surrounding what life will look like then. Will COVID still be a concern? Will stadiums be at full capacity? Will tailgating be allowed?
2. Financial outlay. People are probably thinking twice about how they spend their money, either because they have suffered financially during the pandemic or wonder if they might.
3. All games are on TV in HD, with a great view of the action, substantially reduced concession prices, and (theoretically cleaner) bathrooms with no line. Plus no sitting in traffic, etc.

I don’t want this to seem personal because it is not. But if I had the money to buy good seats and a parking pass I could not make money off of a fellow Tiger. There have been some really kind people on Tigernet that have sold me tickets at their cost. And one member actually gave me SC vs Clemson tickets so I could take my Dad.
It was a very kind gesture by this family because my sister and I knew my mom would be leaving us soon. To me it’s not about the money. It would just be hard for me to profit off of another Tiger Fan. In earlier days because I was financially able I would even have given tickets away.
I understand it’s each person’s decision as to what they do with their tickets.

I know where you are coming from. I have sold tickets for face value, way more than face, way less than face, and given them away. It is hard to say that one size fits all and every scenario is the same. Not a single purchaser when I sold them has asked if they could help with my IPTAY contribution, which as you know is a prerequisite to being permitted to buy tickets. Most buyers forget that when they ask ticket holders to sell them at face. That's OK too, but just remember the face value of the ticket is only part of the story. I am sure that you do, but many don't.

How can demand for tickets be down when they don't even start selling them for 1 day, 9 hours 29 minutes?

Football games were a must for my first 45 years of season tickets but when I opted out last fall, I realized I could live without it. Football tickets and IPTAY are large financial expenses and then you have to buy food, beer etc, pack the car, unpack in the parking lot, pack the car again and then weary from the long day unpack when you get home. Since all the games are on tv, after all the years it is just easier to stay home.
