No. I went back and looked at the ACC tourney selections every year since 1985 when the tourney expanded. Only twice have they ever skipped down over more than one place in the standings to make a selection.

Well the skipped a 4th place team and include a 6th place team that got beat 3 times by the 4th place team.

We were tied for fourth. The committee does not care about conference tie breakers. They skipped one team tied for 4th (took both of the others) and took the 6th place team. That is a far cry from bottom half. They also had a 12-8 conference record. Something that would require us to go 8-2 from here to achieve. So it didn’t happen last year “fella”.
