I don't understand how there is any real "news" in that

whole story. Everybody and his brother already knew the Texans were going to do their best to trade Watson in the offseason.
Now, don't get me wrong, I love DW4. Butt, to me, even if he didn't have these legal issues, the "Ask" from the Texans, reported at THREE first round draft picks and then some, is just too high. There are very few teams with that kind of draft capital, even if they WANTED to spend it on one player.

There is a lesson to be learned here and I hope he realizes the serious situation that he has put himself into by making these juvenile decisions. I became less of a DW fan when he refused to be a part of the national anthem at games, He protest that but has no concerns about his image as a member of the Texans. A Clemson man needs no introduction but we don’t need that kind of image from our front page alumni.

Re: Don't understand there is "news": Actions & Consequences

Another long rant follows ... don't blame any of you for skipping this one.
Too bad that the relationship between Actions and Consequences is not learned by the arrival of adulthood. Some so called 'adults' never seem to figure out the Actions / Consequences rule, and instead continue to strive for status in whatever 'group' of which they want to be associated.
DW4, despite being exposed to tremendous role models at Clemson (not just Dabo, but also Tony Elliott & Jeff Scott ... and team-mate leaders such as Christian Wilkins & Kendall Joseph), apparently chose to eschew the Christian philosophy (DW4 is a self-avowed Christian ... getting re-baptized in Jordan River water when visiting Israel in 2019). Instead, DW4 in 'real life' appears to embrace the non-helpful life philosophy of 'I'm good enough, but everyone else needs to be better.'
This isn't to single out DW4 as being 'worse' than anyone else (which includes me), but it is popular among many young celebrities to air their grievances about those people which are not in their self-described 'group.' His kneeling during the National Anthem and hanging out with "MPs" reflect his self-destructive need to be in the 'I don't need to listen to anyone' group.
DW4's bad decisions and an apparent disinterest in looking at (as Michael Jackson had wrote) "The Man in the Mirror" has led to unfortunate consequences.
OK, rant is over. Let's pray for DW4 that he gets himself right with the teachings which he really knows (deep down) are those which he should heed.

They literally are. They have been popping up in my google news feed for the last couple weeks after I accidentally clicked on an article. But literally every headline is "NFL World Reacts to 's News"
They also did it and swapped out NFL for CFB around the time Lincoln Riley jumped ship for USC and they were reusing the headline for basically every rumor.

I am over DW4. He is in this mess based on his own actions so i basically quit caring about the outcome. I will say that three 1st round picks is laughable. Best case they get a player and one 1st round pick if they can guarantee he will not face a suspension.

I love him to but you talking about a lot of money and question marks right now. On top of that he has been out a year. I hope he comes back better than ever but the whole situation pisses me off to be honest with you.

The only question mark is whether he can stay away from "massage" tables. Other than that he is a lock to be great on the field and off the field in the community.

I blame Nuk????. What’s a man like Watson with all the attention he gets doing in a MP getting supposed hand jobs. You in that position you got to be smarter than that. Hate he had to learn it like this though. Too much talent to be sitting at the house.

I’m not one for for sitting out either. If you were to sign me to a contract then unless you trade me then I’m yours. Guess it’s just how I was raised, but to sit out and I don’t care who you are Rogers? or whomever rubs me wrong. Again I’m old school and it just my opinion.

I LOVE DW4 too but wished he hadn’t sat out this year. I think that along with his troubles with the legal system may have cost him in trade capital. I think what that the Texans are wanting is completely UNREAL. Like it has been said, “What team has that to offer?” I too wish him well and will be a fan of whatever team he lands at. Wish you the BEST OF LUCK DW4, you are too valuable to the game of football both on or off the field. DW4 has done SO MUCH for the Houston community during its tragedies and building homes in his hometown in Ga. (He grew up in a Habitat for Humanity Home!!!!!!

Lucky for the Texans they found a really good QB. That guy is unreal. David Mills was a 3rd rounder in last years draft and is an absolute stud.

Everyone at the table is acting like they're holding 4 aces when no one even has a pair of twos. The NFL is hyper-sensitive about societal issues after trying to lure a more diverse fan base and teams fear a suspension based on the legal outcome. The Texans can set all the Super-Duper triple dog dare deadlines they want. DW4 doesn't want to play for them even if he could. My suspicion is no NFL entity will act until the courts do. I'm guessing Watson's legal team is negotiating out of court settlements and some of these negotiations are asking for 8 digit deals. Time is running out. If Watson can't re-sign and play for another team he can't negotiate settlements. It may be time to ask the courts to decide just to start the clock on the NFL's forgiveness or begin the suits to get him reinstated.

Best post of this thread, Igotstripes ... not that opinions from random TNet voyeurs should make any difference (good or bad) in your day.

Actually it's best for DW4 that the team he goes, when that happens, does not have to give up much for him.
