Not a dig this time. Quote taken out of context, when Spurrier was asked if he put more emphasis on certain games. He doesn't, and he wasn't laughing or being cute when he honestly answered the question.

You just have to understand Spurrier. I liked him at Florida. I live in Ga. and hate the Bulldogs. Anyone who was beating the bulldogs, I liked. The man has always and is always talking trash. I think he does it to recruit more than anything else. He and Fulmer always jawed back and forth the whole time he was at Florida. The two of them artificially inflating the Fl. Tn. rivalry got them a lot of attention and landed them some big recruits. He is just doing the same thing now. Honestly, it is good for Clemson and good for USUC. He is bringing national attention to a state rivalry. Being honest, you would have to admit, that the Old drunk has brought the Clemson-USUC rivalry to national prominence. Most of it has been done by his mouth running and jaw jacking.

I agree. I suspect when we play and the coaches meet on the field to chat during pregame that they probably laugh about each others' quotes. I think the only time it truly got meaningful was when Dabo made his speech and Spurrier replied that the quote Dabo responded to was not from him. Other than that, I don't think either coach cares what the other says and probably get a kick out of all the attention it generates.

Agree. Was watching national football show the other day and they were saying that they thought your rivalry was the second most bitter in the south.

Ford and Morrison had something to do with taking this rivalry to another level. Heck , even Lou Holth and TBowden figured prominently in having outsiders notice. I don't disagree that Otis and Dabo have taken it to the masses once again , but they aren't solely responsible for its national recognition.

Not surprised at all. At the University of South Carolina that is his only claim to fame. Beating Clemson. Say if we won 5 straight... would Spurrier still be the head coach there? The only accomplishment he has there is winning the SEC East one year. It's how he keep the fans happy there. Dabo has lost 5 straight to Spurrier and STILL went to two BCS bowls, winning one. USCjr plays in the Capital One bowl or Outback bowl about every year lol.
It's how he keeps the fans happy... But what happens when we go on a streak......?

The Washington PCers....meh.....doesn't sound right. Their mascot won't change as long as Snyder owns the team and they're making money. The libocrits can whine all they like.....capitalism reigns supreme in this country despite their best efforts.

They better. ECU has a decent team coming back from a 10-win

season---I don't remember if they won their bowl game.
I was in attendance at Ficklen Stadium in G'ville NC some time ago and watched the Pirates dismantle the chickens. And while this year's game is in cootville, ECU will test the chicken defense.....hopefully it'll be an interesting game.

How is that a dig?
He said that after explaining at length how him and the players treat every game the same. Clemson, obviously the most important game for SC residents, was used as an example.
