Given That Our Current QB Has Single-Handedly Put 21 Points

Up for the competition, had we hypothetically played a Wild Cat with Shipley at QB, would we have been better than 3 losses or worse.

Since you brought it up. Jmho, and not knowing the inner workings of our team, better coaching would have had us better than a 3 loss team. That's without Will Taylor or the wildcat. The offense we're running now that kinda started in the BC game, we may have still lost to Pitt but I think we'd have beaten State.
Just not sure how the coaches felt bock was the better option at center after the UGA game especially. Just not sure why the coaches didn't have Taylor in the slot from the beginning. Knowing dj's skillset, we should have practiced this scheme all summer. Again, imo, coaches oversight thinking we'd just plug and play.
Until we lost and played horrible, we were determined to force the square peg.

Taylor was not in the slot from the beginning

because through the summer TP's availability at QB was up in the air. Helms would have been the only back up.
Bock stayed at C because both Trotter and Raburn were injured.
Not rocket science

I don't get the feeling Dabo would move away from DJ to win

a game this year. His approach is longer term. Unless or until he gets a better QB with greater potential on the roster, he's going to stay with DJ in the hope that he will regain his confidence and perform at a higher level.
Given how close we were to losing the games we won, I would say, no, our record would not be better. Now, had we played the backup QBs sooner and more often, we may have. You gotta have a passing threat against an even half way decent defense.

He's not going to bench DJ and risk him leaving the team when he doesn't have CKs commitment yet. If he benched DJ, then CK decommitted we would literally be running the wishbone next season with our QB options.

It's a team game

QBs always get too much credit or too much blame. Did you hear the part where Dabo said the tight end cut the wrong way on the strip scoop and score so DJ had to recoil?

It is a team game and there is plenty of blame to go around

like two consecutive offsides penalties that lets the opposing offense go from 3rd and 13 to 3rd and 3.

They have won two national championships, so they are blameless.

I’m thinking worse because you have to throw the ball, or at least attempt to, occasionally or the entire defense gets in the box to stop the run. Who knows, maybe Shipley can throw the ball but I don’t know that. If we had gone to that I’m guessing we would have 2-3 receivers in the portal by now but that would give the clowns on here more to complain about which seems to make them happy…
