is get into trouble. Wasn't Caleb King arrested for assault and Washaun Ealey arrested for a hit-and-run? Now Crowell has been busted on weapons charges: http://blogs.ajc.com/uga-sports-blog/2012/06/29/georgia-tailback-isaiah-crowell-jailed-on-weapons-charges/?cp=2

How long before Marshall and Gurley end up in the jailhouse? If I were a parent of a UGA recruit, I'd seriously think twice before sending my kid to play for Richt.

Jasper Sanks, another Columbus Carver product, was also kicked off the team and also had previous arrests.

Crowell has bigger problems than being kicked off the team. If he is convicted of that gun in a school zone deal, he will be imprisoned for no less than two years, per the Georgia statute.

is the fact that the gun had altered identification (likely means the serial number was filed off). That comes with a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $25k fine.

That makes it a federal crime.

I don't know him personally, but from what I've read Marshall is stand up kid.

He'll be a beast for years to come.

I hope so for his sake. It just seems to me that most of these guys appear to be good people until they sign with UGA when the thug transformation process begins.

I don't think Crowell was ever projected to be a good kid. Heard several stories of misbehavior in high school. I think that is why we backed off of him.

Lot's of gang activity at Carver High in Columbus. David Beasley seems to have to have stayed out of trouble since we signed him, but I'd just as soon we stayed away from Carver recruits.

The kids that are going there because they see early playing time with all of the RB's leaving the team. When they do get there the environment is not condusive for developement off the field it seems. Hanging with the wrong crowd and giving in to peer pressure rears its head.
