Yes folks the gamecock loss has the Tommy Bowden Esq fingerprint all over it. A game we were favored in, a game we should've won, a game we lead almost the entire time but when it came time to close it out and finish Dabo chose to play not to lose and lost.
He even went so far as to say it on national TV "we just gotta hang on" I believe we're his exact words to the sideline reporter early in the fourth. Basically publicly announcing that he was going straight up hyper conservative the rest of the game to try and "just hang on"
Well we saw that mentality play out for a decade with Dabos predecessor and it never worked in favor. In fact, playing not to lose rarely ever works.
Please grow your balls back and keep the pedal to the medal for 4 full quarters no matter what. Just as I tell my kids, better to strike out swinging than to go down looking like a chump.

We did the same thing against Pitt and it almost cost us the game. Be aggressive and go for the kill.

It’s hard to inspire confidence in your team when the coach lacks it himself. Though, after seeing the way their QB run through Pork Chops D ( his hire) ..?

We passed much more than you think and more passes than runs on almost every drive. We just didn't complete those 3rd down throws after we went up 14-7.
Note, both were poor throws by Cade. And We weren't playing for OT at the end.
We clearly have lost our edge as a program, at least from where we were... But it seems some of that is from the players.

The successful Offenses often throw on 1st and 2nd downs. They mix it up. They are not numbingly predictable.

outside of the last possession in 4th before SC took the lead, we passed on 1st or 2nd down every possession in the 2nd..the only one that we ran it was a 4 yd gain for Mafah...very good 1st down outcome. Even in first down we passed on several.
I think we mixed it up, just lacked overall execution.

Tommy did pretty dang good against the coots. And like every coach besides Dabo since the 1960’s, he never gave up 2 in a row to them.
