...What is the worst fan experience you had at a sporting event?
Mine was 2004 at Doak Campbell Stadium. It really started the night before (Friday) some friends and I arrived in Tallahassee. About 1am we went to the Waffle House, of course it was packed, things were said. Initially it was just friendly banter nothing serious but then it got hostile. A deputy sheriff ended up sitting with us because several FSU fans were relentless with trying to start Shyatt with us. If not for the Deputy, things would have gotten out of control. The deputy was actually really cool and polite.
The next night at the game, things got even more heated. Unfortunately, the only tickets we could get at the time were in the FSU student area. It was pretty bad, we had food thrown at us, threats aimed at us, etc. I ended up shoving a guy down several steps because he would not get out of my face. He got so close to me when he was yelling I could actually feel his saliva hitting my face. I warned him several times to back up and go back to his seats and he refused. On my third warning, I redirected his body away from me using only the amount of force necessary to subdue the idiot. While redirecting him, he fell down some steps, medics were called and police arrived. When police arrived they arrested him and they moved me and my friends to another part of the stadium. Ironically, several FSU students told the officers we were in the right and they had our backs stating I was just defending myself. It may have also helped that I had my shield in my wallet at the time and the Deputy noticed it.
FWIW, we lost that game by 3 scores. I actually thought we had a chance to win it that year too. Whitehurst had a terrible game and it was probably the worst game of his career.

Before the GA tech game. Some guy yelled at us across the street, "TENNESSEE SUCKS!" We yelled back, "YEAH THEY DO!" He looked confused and it looked like his friends started explaining things to him. We ended up smashing Gtech and ironically, ended up beating Tennessee in the bowl game that year.

WVU fans were a different breed of Richard. Still can't listen to John Denver to this day.

he was in law school at USC (he was a Clemson grad) and got free tix, so we decided to go.
Got in the stadium, sat down, looked around at the idiot Dawg fans, looked around at the idiot #### fans, and both had the same thought at the same time......"Why are we here?". Spending 4 hours around 80,000 of the sorriest humans in the world was truly a poor idea.
We walked out the stadium before kickoff. The ticket lady said to us "If you are leaving, you can't get back in." (at the Chicken Coop, there are no Pass Out tickets).
We responded, "We know."

I believe that was the night that "##########" became a thing. Coming out of the men's room at half a State guy gets in my face yelling, "Can you believe this?!?! Can you believe this is happening?!?!?" I calmly relied, "Yes. Yes I can. I've seen us play." Early in the 4th, while the State fans around us were having way too much fun with it, my nephew turns and says, "let's get the f*** out of here." Agreed. Haven't been back to Carter-Finley since.

We had a friend that was at NC State at the time. He helped us get tickets. We were walking to our seats and some punk kid stuck his foot out to trip us as we were walking by. I immediately grabbed him by the shirt and punched him twice in the face and was going to punch him again but he was already unconscious then I grabbed his wallet and got $40 out and I asked around if anyone else had a problem and they said no and we enjoyed the rest of the game and beat them 43-23.
Good times.

My first (and only) time in Williams Brice. CJ ran the opening kick off (I think) for a touchdown and we then proceeded to do nothing the rest of the game. The fans were just total trash.

Twerp 03 in college park. Was living near balmer, I had to take one of my professional exams for my license and was proctored at college park...oh and it was a Saturday morning before we played them. I saw it as a win/win. So me and Mrs Pabst go, I knock exam out, we slam booze we brought to both tailgate and celebrate getting this long awaited exam over with. Got amazing tixs on the 50ish 4 to 5 rows and right behind our bench. Figured no problem all Tigers. NOPE, all twerp.
It got so bad our boys were turning around and backing us up. I physically destroyed one dude as he put his hands on Mrs Pabst. Security escorted him away, questioned me but our people backed me up. After that couple of his buddies kept at it, and we finally left. I swore I'd never go back...worst fan base ever!

I already mentioned my Maryland experience from before. That was with fan behavior. However, 2011 Orange Bowl vs. WV is probably the worst given how much money I spent, the attitude of WV fans, and then drinking into oblivion that night. That was one helluva hangover in the airport the next day while thinking about my bank account.
