He could have stuck to his past comments and been a man of principle and conviction and left while still having a legacy of one of the most successful and innovative of his time. Could have followed Nick's lead and said this is not what he is about. Instead, he hung on too long. Now, at this rate, his legacy will be tarnished the longer he stays. I am not sure, though, his pride will let him leave soon enough though.

And still be able to stick with his principles, but its going to suck for awhile. He got complacent with success... Everyone eventually has to dig deep to find their mojo... Its still in there though...

He has to show that he is willing to clean house, use the portal and adapt quickly to the new era of CFB. It is up to him to prove to himself and all of Clemson Nation that this can be done. The 2026 roster and coaching staff should look massively different than it does today.
It is up to Coach to prove that he can do this.

I think he could, but I don't think he will. Dabo was successful as the model that lead us to the mountaintop fit perfectly with his philosophy, desires, and passion. He could play the David vs Goliath card, develop the catchy slogans and sayings, tout graduation rates, build the PAW journey, and win recruits with his energy and passion. I for one, as an alum and fan, loved the approach.
Unfortunately, those times are behind us. Now it is all business and the landscape has completely changed. I do not think Dabo will do it, since it departs so far from his core. The passion and excitement that drove him before is not there.

Is it possible these days to have a title contending team without some players who are just football players in your program?
The SEC is okay with teams having multiple players with questionable moral and academic attributes (sans Vanderbilt) that are influential to wins.
Dabo is at least trying. Not working, but trying.
