by our offense just because DW is back. He hasn't played in over a month, and well, it's still the same cast of characters on the OL (with the possible exception of Guillermo returning).
I expect a 27-24 type gane and -- barring some unforeseen phantom holding call -- the Tigers should be victorious.

It's going to be close for sure but the Tigers will win by 2 TDs. GT may be winning at half but this year it seems the Tigers are a second half team. Well they are vs crappy teams, we will see .

The offensive line will look much better. The running game will be more productive. I would not be surprised to see 300 yards passing and 200 yards rushing (when those little flip passes are counted as runs).

makes better decisions. A broken play or missed block is a scoring opportunity for him. His ability to throw the deep ball alone will open things up, but he can move around and avoid pressure while keeping his eyes downfield. Our best talent is at wide receiver and we just haven't been able to utilize it lately. Look for Mike Williams to catch some deep balls and really loosen things up. The threat of a qb running will make our read option more effective.
Our offensive line isn't perfect, but they are good enough. We just haven't had a quarterback or running back that can beat one man and make a play.

that'd be like asking the naysayers on TNET to personally limit their sniping to reasonable levels
just because the Tigers lucked up and won.. oh, say… 10+ games a year for 3 or 4 years running.

I think we will see a better offense with DW out there, but I don't expect a NCST or UNC Watson. He will do better against GT than Cole would. Watson doesn't stare down one receive like Cole does, throws a helluva better deep ball than Cole, can run better than Cole and doesn't throw the ball into the dirt on 7 yd passes to his TE like Cole. No doubt we will see better QB play with Watson

I agree with you regarding DW and the O. But honestly, I'd like to see our D allow less points. I know GT finds ways to score, but I'd like to think that BV has prepared them well for this game, and these guys have experience against the GT offense. They know what's coming.
Lakip will do his thing a few times too. 3 TDs, 3 FGs.

Watson has thrived against bad defenses. GT is ranked about where NC State was in terms of total defense, and they're much worse than NCS in terms of yards per play. Stout would've looked much better had he been playing against that kind of defense, so I expect Watson to look great.

A "miraculous turnaround" isn't needed to win this game. The offense just needs to be reasonably more productive that it has been the last several weeks. Combine that with a good defensive performance, limited penalties, and no turnovers, and we have a good shot at winning by more than a field goal. Could it be a close game? Of course. Especially if we help them out. But it shouldn't be that close in my view.
