Dabo says he has confidence in CV. Just reading between the lines here. But that sorta implies to me that Dabo will be quick to pull Cade for CV if Cade doesn’t perform like he should going forward. Just how it sound.

‘Too late’ in a sense that 2025 season can be saved.
Not too late if we will use the remainder of 2025 season to provide ‘live audition’ for Vizz (and Denson … ideally saving his game appearances to the four final games).
CK2’s RS season will be preserved if he doesn’t play again in 2025. After the season, he can decide whether to compete for the starting QB job in 2026 … either here at Clemson or at another program.

How are these coaches going to recruit future QBs if it turns out they produced DJ, Cade, and CV (assuming he’s not prepared, but I hope he is)?
DJ was good until he got to Clemson.

That’s how the narrative will go. Might already he happening but definitely will if we add CV to that list.

Being on the field toward the end of the cuse game. We were being blown out and had zero possibility of coming back. Dabo had a perfect opportunity to put CV in and didn’t. Ridiculous

make at least the basic plays, make first downs and get in a rhythm. CV should’ve played against Syracuse. I don’t know about other guys. 1st get some shots. and let’s see what they can do with the other guy.

Chris Denson is who I would like to see. Anybody who’s been in this program for years has been rendered mostly useless with a few exceptions. Denson is new blood and would bring the excitement that guys like Will Heldt bring

It would take a lot for Dabo to truly bench Cade and make Vizzina the starter.
I could see him resting Cade for a series to try to settle him down, but demote him to backup? I don’t think so.
I am also not convinced that Vizzina is ready. Dabo might think he is, but then again, Dabo also predicted that we would be 16-0 and national champs.

If they pull Cade and put in CV, is Riley still going to draw up game plans and call plays? If so, you’re going to get pretty much the same result. I’m telling you, Riley is our problem. He has a one track mindset, but he doesn’t have the players with those skills.
You have to play to the strengths of what you have, not what you wished you had. That’s why Cade is running for his life on every play and then it leads to panic and making bad decisions.

Really? Cade has not been running for his life. He was under way more pressure last year and performed ok. There has been a sense of complacency for a while now and it starts at the top. The rampage last week in the presser made that obvious. It bleeds into the team and other coaches. I love Dabo more than anyone bc I saw him being successful in 2010 after a tough season bc he was hungry. I don’t see that hunger anymore. It’s look at what I did. He did do a lot but the consistency has gone obviously

I agree he does that, and he stares down receivers sometimes throwing into double coverage when another receiver is open that he doesn’t see. That’s true. And he throws too late as you say. But he is not a drop back passer. He is not effective without an effective run game, and Riley wants to pass, pass, pass every down. In the LSU game he was definitely running for his life bc they blitzed every play. Poor play design to counter that, and #### poor blocking schemes. That’s all on Riley.

Maybe you haven’t heard the news about the QB missing dozens of plays since game 1?
The plays are fine especially with how we are running well. The passes are there but even the elementary ones are being missed let alone the huge game changing plays we’ve missed.
With a solid QB the offense was good enough for 11th last year. Cade proved last year it can work, now add in the obvious strong development in running games.
It’s not Riley.

are the same issues ongoing. CV will go in. I think he’ll play no matter what. He has to get some time with the ones if nothing else. We may need him. If Cade doesn’t show some progression after two weeks to figure it out it has to be addressed earlier rather than later.

I've been wanting Dabo to put Vizzina in for a full possession for the last 2 weeks. If Cade starts the next game with another 3 and out series Vizzina had better come in or I doubt you'll see him in anything but potential mop up duty (unlikely).

How they are coached has changed because they can take the ball and transfer or quit in the first 4 weeks.
Then Dabo loses his QB or backup and the money, ever how you want to look at it if he benched him during the 1st 4.
It’s a money maker for them because they will get paid by the highest bidder for next season too.
Dabo can bench them now, once they play in their 5th game, and they will lose the year if they quit.
It’s every position and coaching has changed because of this not a smart rule.
That’s my understanding and I could be wrong & if I am there was no reason not to bench some of them during our first 4.
