I am very very uncomfortable with moving to the SEC in 2030

Their precipitous slide in football began 2 years ago when no SEC teams made it to the finals of the CFP. This past year only 1 SEC team made it to the final four of the CFP and honestly, Texas was very overrated.
Does anyone with any football IQ really think the SEC will still be competitive in football in 5 years? Let's face it, the SEC is no B1G. Heck, I am not sure they are a Big 12.
Do not board the Titanic Clemson!

Eventually, by the time we join the SEC in 2030, week 1 will be the first week of the playoffs. That way they can include every SEC team in the CFP

all the facts. Most of what I'm going to say is personal.
Imo, Clemson should keep to the southeast and not be traveling to the west coast, midwest and northeast. Those trips are murder for fans and the teams. Economics and culture would be my top factors in my hopes that we join the SEC.

2030/31 is when all the contracts expire, CFP, SEC, B1G. So it likely be the fall of major conferences and rise of a semi-pro super league anyways

There will only be Haves and Have-nots.
When that happens, we just need to be on the side that gets us well paid for our efforts.

Get more than just Clemson playing elite FB and ESECPN would give the ACC a much better contract, period!!!

Clemson is in an odd place about moving to the SEC.

ESPiN already owns Clemson's TV rights so there is no attraction to adding Clemson to the SEC TV deal. The SEC would demand more from ESPiN for revenues, and certainly deserve it, so I don't see this working out.
It's more likely that Fox, ESPiN and streaming services collude to maximize college sports revenues and revamp the entire sports broadcasting system.
If not then Fox is in the catbird seat and sees Clemson, FSU and a handful of other teams as a major attraction, desirable for addition into the B1G.
The truth is that none of us know what gears, cogs and wheels are, or will be turning in the next decade.

The SEC has won 13 of the last 20 National Championships and with 4 different teams. The B1G has 3, the ACC has 3, and the PAC 10 has 1 during that same period.
So I’d say the SEC is the Primer conference!
Go Tigers!

If we join the SEC, it would be a drastic mistake in my opinion. They cheat, we don't plus we would be the red haired step child and would get no consideration for anything.

So you're saying it's a lateral move for more pay?

IDK how anyone could think the SEC or any other conference could stick one right up Clemson's butt any more violently or often.
After Swaffie and Phillips got done reaming Clemson out the SEC won't touch side nor bottom!

They cheat no more than anyone else, so give me the SEC!
I for one do not want to go to Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, or Purdue during the winter months and it would be a ton of travel for the players!
About the only one I’d consider is Ohio State, and that’s still a long stretch!
SEC all day everyday for me!
