I know. You don't want to hear it. But I'm sick and tired of reading about elite programs improving their programs and we are not making moves.
Bama has added talent. If it doesn't hurt bama a transfer is not going to hurt Clemson.
We're selling culture when everyone else is selling the NFL, NIL and playing time.
I'm older times change, they just do. It's not 2016. The rules are different. Teams with 69 scholarship players don't make the playoffs.
With that said, I fine if you you want to only make a run every 4 years. Because that's how long it will take. A high school kid rarely can beat out a D1 athlete. It takes 2 years. High school is not D1.
Dabo needs to get off his a##. Sorry I've had some wine.

I wouldn't trade Dabo for any coach in the country, including Saban. I think Dabo is the perfect coach for Clemson.
With that said, we are going to suffer a little due to roster management. Dabo thought our culture was strong enough that we would have very little transferring out. Everyone can see that is not the case. I believe he will adjust but I think we are late to the party.
Everyone keeps mentioning the dandy dozen which had some great players including Tajh Boyd, but truth be told that small class hurt our depth and is what kept us from getting over the hump. Good news is our brand is stronger now and we should be able to overcome quicker through high school recruiting and the transfer portal.

And see a 4 star DL from Ohio state. I'd say we can use him.
Again, culture is important and we shouldn't compromise on that, but ours isn't so pristine that players aren't leaving. Like it or not (Dabo obviously doesn't) the portal is here and it can't be a one way street or you're depth is going to be severely compromised.
Teams without quality depth don't make playoff runs. Its that simple

where Dabo was mentioning our needs. DL was one. He even mentioned RB. You can't just look at starters. You have to look at depth and how those schollies are spread. That guy probably has 4 years left and we didn't sign a DL.

We didn't this year , until we did. What , after 2 or 3 games ? Can never have enough linemen. on OL and DL .

Time. Not necessarily start. Clemson's best teams during this run rotated a bunch of guys on the DL and at WR. Regardless of who ran out there first the 2 deep got lots of playing time.

This should be clear by now.
The Dabo homers keep telling us that Dabo isn’t against the portal and that he’s willing to use it. Well, actions speak louder than words. We haven’t gotten a player from it yet.

Dabo can say he will use the portal until he’s blue in the face, but the reality is that we are one of just three FBS teams that still haven’t gotten a player from the portal.
It’s clear Dabo doesn’t like the portal, doesn’t want to use it, and thus far has done all he can not to. I believe he will use it, perhaps as early as this year, but only because he absolutely has to. That doesn’t make anything I said wrong.

I don’t think Dabo is a liar, and I did not call him a liar. I did not imply that he is a liar.
If I thought he was a liar, I would have no problem clearly saying so.
Saying that Dabo doesn’t like the portal and doesn’t want to use it is true. Dabo’s words and actions support that.

Either you believe Dabo is doing what he’s always said, in which case the continued conversation on the matter is moot, or you don’t, in which case Dabo is intentionally not taking players from the portal, despite the fact he has said many times that he would.

Dabo isn't a fool and isn't going to panic. I think he's likely waiting to see if there is any discontent or ill-effects at other programs 1st. This thing is still new! What will it do to kids you have told since you signed them; "if you work hard and put your time in you too will get an opportunity to start at Clemson"! If you bring in someone at their position; do they end up transferring out and now you are right back where you started? It's being over-simplified by some people or maybe people aren't taking everything into consideration - but my guess is it's a "purposeful pause" to using the Portal as opposed to being against it.

...Dabo has made it obvious by his couched comments that he hates the portal. Indeed, he despises it. My words, not his. That's obvious to everyone though. It is diametrically opposed to how he has built and wants to continue building his program. So, as he has said, he will use it in his own time and on his own terms. Not because of pressure from "outside noise" just to silence the noise. He's earned that right and we should trust his judgement on this.

Well, Dabo went after that one guy who is a center, but he went to Michigan.
