.... the B1G doesn't wait until 2030 to expand, but tries to lure Clemson and FSU to B1G sooner than that (2027) to get a firm foothold in Southeast. Then, the SEC counters by trying to get them into SEC to keep B1G away from the two biggest brands in the Southeast.
Then a bidding war starts between Fox and ESPN.
I think this will happen, to some degree.
I've mentioned in another post how I think it will turn out.

I think they are correct. Clemson, UNC and FSU are in good shape when it comes to landing in the Power 2. I know the old ACC pumpers that never want any change when it comes to anything don't want to hear that.

But, I think it is far more speculation and guesses based on interpretation of events than it is real inside information.
My personal speculation is that FSU and Clemson will play in the ACC in 2025 and 2026, but will be in a different conference starting in 2027.
I think Clemson has a 70% chance of being in SEC and 30% chance of being in B1G.
I think FSU has a 55% chance of being in SEC and 45% chance of being in B1G.
But, I admit I am basing my speculation solely from following the information I get based on the news report (lawsuits, etc.) and the speculation of folks who post on youtube.

Networks are the key players. They are talking about Fox is pressuring B1G to take Clemson. That makes perfedtly good sense. Fox getting Clemson and FSU is a dollar winner for Fox.
Two questions:
1. How much money is Fox (and NBC and CBS) willing to give B1G in order to get FSU and Clemson?
2. How much money is ESPN willing to give SEC in order to keep Fox from getting FSU and Clemson?
Those are two questions that I have no idea what the answer is.

Those are the key questions. But so many have refused to notice that every expansion change has been driven by the networks desire for more eyeballs. College professors are not running the show.

Bret, does Nil or how all of this unwinds with the upcoming lawsuit etc, have any impact on expansion, or are they two separate issues?
It’s crazy trying to follow this stuff, seems like a full time job, lol

They did this crap in the old big east, now rinse and repeat in the ACC.
