Coach Morris: Please don't call run plays with Cole Stoudt

Oct 19, 2014, 7:32 AM

Why?

1. Cole is NOT athletic and fast enough to beat defenders even in short yardage situations.

2. Cole is already playing hurt, LAST thing we want is him going down. We need him healthy till Watson returns.

3. IT is an absolute waste of a play calling him to run the football because it usually ends up with no gain to a loss on play. Better option would be to go with a RB up the middle as it would have more chance of succeeding than him converting.

Agree I hate it. Don't even give him the read option.

hurt or not, you have to run him a few times or the D will

key on the RB even more. Our running game is weak enough. If the QB is no option to run, it would be even weaker.

It would only make sense if the play works. How does Cole getting tackled at LOS helps free up our running game? besides he ran many times during last night and it doesn't seem to help our RBs one bit. They had once again a pretty average game minus few breakout runs that resulted in TDs.
