Huge myth invented on Tigernet:

“We can’t beat Bama with KB at QB.”
I think TL wii be starting or playing significant minutes by the 4th game, but with our D, we’re “capable” of beating Bama with KB. With better QB protection (OL and RBs) could have beaten them last year.

We need better play from our oline, better pass blocking from the rbs, and we need kb to throw it up more to Higgins and Overton. Also getting back Garrett Williams is going to hide a multitude of sins on our offensive line.
If these things that I mentioned happen, we can beat Alabama.

Bama also could have thrown Tua out there if they had needed to. I'm not trying to bash Kb but to beat Bama you have to attack the entire field. Tee Higgins getting hurt and Etienne maybe getting hurt didn't help matters. The receivers last year could have played better for sure but dumping everything on the OL when they were loading up isn't really fair.
You have to attack vertically. Tee Higgins has to be double teamed and this year Rodgers and Kendrick look they can both go more vertical than McCloud could so the second safety has to play deeper. That leaves you with a seven man box if you leave a linebacker on Renfrow which is a match up he can win regularly. Realistically then defenses are playing nickel to combat our base offense which would make things much easier fort he running backs. It's all predicated on the ability to attack down the field with the 9 and 2 receiver positions though, which requires a QB that can and will sling it.
Lawrence's arm talent is pretty amazing. I'm not saying he's better than DW4 and certainly not yet, but that TD to Higgins in the spring where he just flicked it is something I don't think DW could do with that little motion. He can absolutely make the throw but I think it might need some more juice behind it.

have the wide receivers and quarterback that could make them pay for bringing more than we could block. Our wide receivers weren't big and strong enough to create separation form an aggressive Bama secondary or win jump ball opportunities and our QB wasn't accurate enough to make the necessary throws.

Just watch the tape. Watch the Bama defense vs DW and then vs KB. The safeties vs DW stayed back for fear of the deep threat. Vs KB they attacked the LOS.
And are you forgetting how many wide open receivers he missed game after game? The spring game was a perfect example of how inaccurate he is down the field. It’s not a myth.
Trevor Lawrence has a better arm down the field and is more accurate. It’ll back the safeties off, create more room for seams and underneath passes as well as the running game.
Why can’t you see that?

Anything is possible, but I haven’t seen Saban beaten by a sub par QB before especially not with lots of time to prepare. Elite QB play is the way to beat Bama.

And that lady and gents was the last time the coots played Bama. If you're in the SEC and you only play Saban once can you really say you're in the SEC?

haven't you posted this before? That's not what people believe about KB. KB can beat alabama but needs a stellar defensive performance. From everything we've seen from TL we could beat Alabama with a stellar offense.

Uga and Bama will field OL's capable of handling Clemson's DL. Venables must replace talent at the second level. Cu's dominance isn't a given outside the ACC.

Bama is the only team that has been competitive. Seems like we're either playing auburn or uga and scar every year, not to mention your best team in BAMA every year and the only one to really give us fit is BAMA this past year. WE hear about it all year but when we play one of them it ends up being hype. I guess b/c you beat us the one time with Cole Stoudt in his first start you give yourself a pat on the back.
Not to mention we beat any Oklahoma team we face or Ohio State team we face when we're told how much better they are than us... its the facts not rhetoric.
Man..get outside every once in a while. Experience other things than Athens.

Bwahahahaha...what decade did you stop paying attention? http://mcubed.net/ncaaf/tvc/clem/sec.shtml
Clemson records vs SEC in the current millennium/century: in 2000's: 9-8 in 2010's: 11-8
Since Dabo's HC/interim HC tenure:
UGA: 1-1 Alabama 1-2 LSU: 1-0 Auburn 4-1 Kentucky: 1-0 South Carolina: 5-5

I disagree. KB’s deficiencies in the passing game would be exposed by Nick Saban’s defense again. Nobody can run the ball against that defense effectively. You have to beat them through the air, something KB isn’t good enough to do.
