How was Helene in SC?

It was NASTY for us down here in JAX. Our building lost power shortly after the NFL game ended last night. It was eerie. Even the emergency hallway lights were out. All we could see were the exit signs. We had wind gusts almost hit 70mph. I tried to go outside and look and the door blew me back and shut. We had water leaking in the lobby and the 10th floor where the pool was. Ended up with some friends, wine and a few candles to ride out the worst. Have never seen anything like that in my life personally. Glad for us we just had 13 hours of no power but nothing else major! For my parents in Greenwood they said so many trees and lines down it could take days to weeks to get their power back. How about y’all?

Around 75% of people in Oconee, Pickens and Anderson counties lost power according to Duke Power’s outage map.

I live in Allen county and I think 95 percent lost power , it’s a disaster here, 12 people killed in the Csra ( aiken/augusta area ) 3 in beech island sc where I live , it was a massive destructive storm , maybe a week or weeks before we get power

It got really intense around midnight out here at the beaches, but we did not lose power. We know people that live just across the "ditch" that did lose power tho..

It packed a lot bigger punch than I was expecting.

Today was a beautiful day. :)

Man yeah from 11pm-3am was the worst. Never see anything like it. The power cut out right about 11:50ish.

Sounds like what most of S.C. experienced. You said it. I wasn’t expecting this much

In Simpsonville. Lost 3 trees and went 36 hours with no cell, power, internet. Many neighbors had it worse.
